Question about Testosterone and HGH

So for the 1st time ever in my life I had blood work done to check my test and HGH levels. I'm getting a lil' older and things are starting to slow down a tad. Well, I got my test results back and I'm 50% lover then the norm ! My question is this. Is it right or wrong to get my levels back to normal - by having my Dr. give me the proper meds ? Is this an ethical situation ? I'm a drug user or enhancement user ?

Who here has low levels of test/ HGH ?

I'm only 21 so I can't tell you anything about low testosterone but I actually did have lower GH when I was younger. I was placed on it for about a year (not positive how long actually) during high school and I grew a few inches. I was pretty short back then and now I'm at least up to 5'7"

I think it's completely ethical. It's something your body should be producing anyway. If you can get HRT then I say go for it.

[QUOTE=psykonxtdoor;92135373]I'm only 21 so I can't tell you anything about low testosterone but I actually did have lower GH when I was younger. I was placed on it for about a year (not positive how long actually) and I grew a few inches.

I was sitting there in the Dr's office thinking the same thing. I was like whooa i'm about to take test/ and HGH. The Dr. looks at me and says " you need it - you're 50% lower then normal - do you want to just keep getting weaker "

Why I really started questioning what I was doing was when I started to think ( what is the difference between me and pro athletes like Bonds or any other pro who could also have low levels ).

Wow - wonder how long I have been this low.

The difference between you and Bonds is that he used it to increase his performance in a sport. You'd be using it to better your quality of life.

Wow. The media and politicians have brainwashed you like everyone else. I'm not trying to flame you. Its just that your post shows how people have been influenced that "hormones are bad". You have low testosterone levels, you should be able to get them back up to normal level. The normal cut off level is quite low anyway so your test levels are probably in the doghouse. There are side effects attributed to low test levels and as you get older they will only get worse - low libido, muscle loss, tiredness, loss of strength. Only you know your motivations to go on TRT, but if you are eligible, have any side effects of low test, doc is willing to prescribe then there is little to think about here.

EDIT: This topic gets me worked up because my dad is eligible for HRT (and has all the sides of low test) but has the same mindset. He is so brainwashed on the subject it drives me mad. Thing that makes me mad is that our GP is willing to prescribe him as well.

BB - you have me all wrong. What I'm meaning to say is Bonds and crew are 35 + yrs old. How do we know their test/ hgh wasn't low like me ( a freaking 34 yrar old ). If my levels are 50% low - who is to say athetes were/ are/ not ?

I wasn't talking down.

I just want to feel normal.

Unless Bonds came forward and discussed it openly we wouldn't have any idea. I get what you mean now though. What was bond taking and wouldn it relieve low test symptoms or increase them? You bring up a good topic though. If athletes have low hormone levels should they be allowed to bring them up to normal range. If you were hypogonadal it would make it harder to recover from training and compete with everyone else.

I think most athletes who get in the **** for steroid use are quite well and above normal hormonal ranges

So its okay for a woman to take contraceptive pills (which - god forbid!- are steroids) to better her quality of life , but you feel guilty to have prescribed testosterone which you require to function properly as a man? Please wake up.

Something can only be unethical if it harms an innocent person. I fail to see how hormone replacement therapy hurts anybody.

Both. If you've got a problem with that, stop using all medications and stop doing anything that enhances your life.

There is nothing wrong with getting your virility back. Obtaining these drugs from your doctor is not illegal. Women go on hormone therapy all the time so why should you feel like you're doing something wrong? I'd say go for it because you've got nothing to lose. You'll feel better mentally and physically.

Women take hormones when they get older and no one seems to give it a second thought. There are anti-aging clinics all over the country that specialize in this for a reason.

Low by what standards? Different doctors have different opinions of what low is.........
