Eating at night
I find myself binging at night. I eat good for 2 or 3 days and have a crazy cardio session or weight session and find myself binge eating. Man I cant break that cycle.
I know its something only I can change. Maybe some tips. I will eat clean all day and my body just goes crazy then.
I have been on this cycle for a while now. My strength and **** has been great but recently I am not gaining strength or losing fat.
I need my will power back.
i done bitching now.

All I can say is...BREAK THAT CYCLE!!!!
It is obviously holding you back. Just stop doing it. If you want it bad enough, you WILL be able to control your urges. Don't wreck all your hard work just for a few minutes of satisfaction, that once it's over, will make you feel like ****.

spread your fat calories evenly throughout the day so you won't be as "hungry" at night. Try drinking more water at night.

You just have to remind yourself that being hungy won't kill you. It's a pain. It's a bother. But it won't kill you. Just think of that feeling as your diet working. That's what I did.

I drink tons of water and zero sugar drinks. All diet drinks if I must but I think they make me feel bloated.
Another big problem is overeating because I eat too fast. I have been noticing if I stop myself at a normal portion about 10-12 minutes later I feel full.
I have to do something.
Thanks for the positive reinforcements

Try carb cycling. Right now like the other posters I would recommend high fiber foods and lots of sugar free drinks. At night, I would recommend eating a little bit of peanut butter and cottage cheese or casein and load up on caffeine free liquids. Good luck

BTW about eating too fast, I recommend eating a salad before one of your larger meals; it takes a while for your body to feel full and that salad is like a tracer shot for your stomach.

I also had the same problem. I would be normal all day, but when the evening would occur, the munchies would overtake me. After a while, I decided to eat dinner two hours earlier, which would be 5pm instead of my usual 7pm, and then I'd do an hour cardio session 2-3hrs after dinner. I would come home tired and not hungry whatsoever. I would usually fall asleep 30mins to 1hr after the cardio session.

Really you should avoid diet sodas and other items with artificial sweeteners. I read a study that indicated that these can actually increase hunger cravings a few hours later. Not to mention that they are not natural chemicals. How can you expect your body to function at 100% if you are putting poisons into it (albeit in small quantities)?

Agree. Make sure you are getting enough fat in your diet. A macro balance of 40/40/20 is usually a good place to start from.
And you can never get enough water.

Again, work toward cutting the diet drinks out of your life. They don't help.
I'm willing to guarantee that you don't have hardly any vegetables in your diet (probably 1-2 servings a day). If you eat a serving of green fibrous veggies about 15 minutes before each meal (even breakfast if you can handle it), you will not only feel more full (which will slow down how fast you eat), but ensure that you get the vegetables you need for good health and keep your total calorie intake low.
Vegetables (in large quantities) are the simple cure for obesity, just that nobody likes them.

just my 2 cents, but i learned the hard way (myself personally) that when i get hungry or cravings, usually late at night, it's best to eat something... I used to be really strict and just fought it... but i learned that when i put myself through hell trying to fight it, i'll end up getting into a bad cycle or mindset... so eventually i'll end up just giving in and eating lots of bad sh!t... so now if i get a bad craving i'll just listen to music or something for 15min. and if the craving is still there i wont put myself through hell fighting it... i'll go eat something healthy and filling, but first i'll drink a full glass of water, then i'll go eat some cottage cheese or spinach, maybe that or some celery and carrots with a little bit of nuts, or something else that's not too harsh... but my opinion is to not put yourself through hell fighting it because the endorphins you get from food is just too strong... so if you can't get your mind off of it after 15min or so, then go eat something healthy...
just my 2 cents
[edit]
just to add, you need to think long term, so if you're suffering by fighting through hunger some nights and giving in others, you're not going to succeed in the long run... you need something you can live with... a big problem with a lot of people is they want to rush results or lose weight as fast as possible so they eat waaay too little or they drive themselves crazy trying... weeks will go by faster than you think so be patient, it's worth it... otherwise if you try and rush then end up failing, you'll look back a few months from now and realize you're back where you started or you're worst off... just thought i'd add this to what i wrote earlier

I usually have a tablespoon of peanut butter and an 8 - 10 oz. glass of 2% milk at night. Any fans of this?

Milk has a good amount of sugars (lactose) which is not good for pre-bed consumption. And milk makes many people bloat, feel gassy or otherwise cause digestive distress. I've practically cut milk out 100% and have never felt better. Don't believe the hype - milk is for baby cows, not humans.
The one caveat to my statement about milk is milk proteins. If you buy milk based protein powders (or milk products like cheese or cottage cheese), these will typically not have lactose and will be very good for you.

This is perfectly fine. I do prefer PB + Cottage chess tho, milk is a good substitute if you are out. Its casein that is important here. Slow digesting proteins are ideal before bed.

Yeah, but if you eat cottage cheese or a casein based protein powder you get the casein benefits without the sugars and lactose digestive issues.
Although, 1/2 a pint (8oz) is not that much, so to each his own.
But, if you want to see what I mean about milk causing bloat, gas and distress - go two weeks without it and see if you are better for it or worse for it. Most people are better for it, but your mileage may vary. We are all unique, after all

Very good choice. With the yolk is even better (just not too many).
