Think Bodybuilding is TIME CONSUMING, TOO HARD, TOO COSTLY & WORTHLESS?
Think Bodybuilding is TOO TIME CONSUMING, TOO HARD, TOO COSTLY, and possibly, WORTHLESS? Think again...
TOO TIME CONSUMING for you?
So, going to the gym, possibly 5 nights a week schedule is too hard for you? Well, say you workout for 90 minutes... That's 90 x 5 = 450 min/60 = 7.5 Hours... 7 Hours of a WHOLE week is dedicated to working out. Not much if you ask me. Training 5 days a week for 90 minutes is quite a lot, MANY people usually go 3-4 times a week and train for around an hour. What's that, 3-4 hours, a week? Theoretically, you are sacrificing 3-7 MAX hours of your time a week.
168 Hours = 1 week, working out occupies only 1.7% - 4.1% of your time a week. Imagine how minute the percentages would be calculating it annually!... Still think it's too time consuming?
Another factor people think is too time consuming is shopping. Well, put it this way, since you restrict yourself to certain foods with your diet regime; You're time spent in the shops would be less consuming then if you were purchasing chips, soft drinks, chocolates etc. Also you will be following a diet, so you will know what you need and where it is.
Food Preparation could be a hassle for some, but you should get use to it... You'll need to do it more often than usual anyways when you have children, and if you do have children, this won't be much of an obstacle to overcome, would it?
TOO HARD for you?
Too Hard? Man, if someone said Bodybuilding is too hard, they obviously need to read this! So keep reading...
TOO COSTLY for you?
If you find equipment, gym membership, and food to be too much to cater for, think about what you spend your money on now, that is worthless, then think how much you would save, not wasting money on alcohol, junk food etc. and start up a meal plan, and try and aim for a budget around your average shopping budget, or less since all the USELESS items (Which are usually the most expensive) are eliminated. There's your diet taken care of, and with the little spare cash, save up or trade off some of your goods for a second hand equipment... EASY!.
Think it's WORTHLESS?
Okay, you always come across those people who tell you "There's no point", "You're Up Yourself" - WORTHLESS comments. Well, they are the type of people who think it's TOO HARD. Because you see, they can't comprehend the fact YOU have the balls to DEDICATE yourself to something CONSTRUCTIVE.
Pros:
- Build up in self esteem and confidence
- Gain a much more attractive look, MUSCLES!
- You will get pampered upon day by day - Both MEN & WOMEN
- ATTRACT the HOT GIRLS
- People feel intimidated by you
- HEALTHIER
- STRONGER
- MORE FIT
- Live a more balanced life style
- PROOF you can DEDICATE yourself
+ MANY MORE
Cons:
- TOO HARD
- TOO TIME CONSUMING
- TOO COSTLY
The Cons are pretty funny... Aren't they?
CONCLUSION:
While most people devote their lives to watching TV, playing video games - gaining nothing, but wasting money on them, we are out there, dedicating ourselves to a healthier and more productive lifestyle and gaining a nice, healthy physique that offers a build up in confidence, strength and appeal.
Also, TV and video games consume MUCH MUCH more of your time and MUCH more money, and hey, I'd rather use less hours and less money to a more constructive thing, which offers ALOT of additional benefit, than stuff that costs more, and wastes my life away.
If you finished reading this still thinking Bodybuilding is TOO HARD?... You’re just a PANSY.
That’s why PANSIES are NEVER BIG

Paying for Bodybuilding constests and contest prep is very money and time consuming. Bodybuilding would grow a lot if there more sponsors =0).

I believe it has to do with laziness and lack of dedication. Everyone wants to lose weight and look great but they don't want to do ****.

Alot of the time is taken on the commute to the gym. When I join the uni gym next week it will take me 20 mins there, 20 mins back. My workout is like 1 hour. So that's alot. But in term time I only plan to go on my leg day cause I can do everything else at home bar squat.

weight lifting isn't easy, but it also isn't hard... at least not to me. Everything involving it gets me excited whether it be actually working out or just drinking a protein shake its all fun.

Great thread. Training has more benefits than about anything else you could be doing. Add a great diet on top of that and the sky's the limit. And not only does weight training and following a good diet take a small amount of time, it will add YEARS onto your life, and you will remain able minded and able boddied into your later years. There is nothing more important to your health than exercise. Peace

geat to know we people on these boards act and think exactly the same. I love lifting, from the the burn you feel to pushing your hardest and finally finishing and feeling and looking like beast, just waiting to do it all again tomorrow.

i wish there was no such thing as overtraining or platues. I would love to be in the gym an hour everyday....getting stronger everyday and bigger. Seeing results in the mirror is an achievment. It becomes more addicting as your progress on and the next thing you know, you look like ronnie coleman.
