This is a thread to Discuss: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
********Spoilers, do not read if you don't want to know************
Well... what did everyone think? My over-all impression was that it was quite good. I'm still in awe that Dumbledore is dead. Some part of me still believes that it's some sort of hoax.
I always thought Snape was a good guy, just odd, or misunderstood. Do we think he killed D. on D's orders? It seemed rather weird the way he treated Harry when retreating from the grounds.
Also interested to see who this R.A.B. guy is who stole the Horcrux.

yeh it seemed a bit bad, I on't know but I think there might be more to it then Snape kills Dumbeldore and turns out to be evil. But Harry needs even more awesome badass spells to use, if he wants to go out of school like he said at the end.

I liked it a lot, I loved learning about Voldemort's past. If you've seen my "someone spoiled harry potter for me" thread, you'd understand that I wasn't too surprised by the ending. But I do agree that there has to be more to it than snape just doing it because he his evil.
oh, and LOL at us, we all read it on day one.RIP CJ

Took me 5 hours to read it...couldn't stop from the moment I bought it.
Dumbledore's death was really quite a shocker..IMO.
And the common belief seems to be that R.A.B. is Regulus Black, Sirius' brother..

SPOILER Below....
The half blood prince is Snape. Apparently, his mother was a full blooded wizard, and his father was a muggle. His mother's famiy name was prince, hence the title The Half Blood Prince. Apparently, he played up his mother's side of the bloodline much higher in order to join the Death Eaters who had little desire for mudbloods.

Just finished reading it today, and I must admit I was shocked that Dumbledore is dead. Couldn't quite figure out if Snape was acting on orders, or simply protecting Draco form doing the actual killing, thereby keeping his bond, by transferring the murder onto himself...does that make sense??? It just sucks that we have to wait 2 years to read the end, but then again.....will it really be the end?

no it wont be she has said she is writing more, plus the 7th book would have to be HUGE, HUGE, if it were to be the end.
Think about it, Harry has to find four HorCruxes, and learn enough spells to fight voldemort and snape and any other thing that shows up.
It took Dumbledore how long to find two of the horcruxes? Oh wait he found one, Harry found the other one by accident.
It would just be ridiculous for Harry to just suddenly find them with no trouble. Plus he would get ****rocked by the other wizards.
Personally I thought they didnt make Dumbledore out to be badass enough, they were all oh hes so powerful and this and that, but he never really showed it. It would seem stupid to me that he would freeze harry and give draco a chance to disarm him, when he could just disarm Draco, freeze Draco, Freeze Harry, than **** **** up.
Also like Yoda in the third star wars movie, catching the force lightning in his hands without the use of a lightsaber, Dumbledore should have caught the Avedra Kadevra (spelling) and fired it back it at someone, or blew something up, or summoned a dragon to kill ****, or SOMETHING, not just die.
Plus hes a noob, he could barely drink that green goo... why not say, alrite harry, lets get some of this in the cup, go back, find an antidote come back here and **** some more **** up.
In the next book I would like to see,
Charlie Weasley ****ing **** up with dragons.
Bill Weasley / Remus Lupin / Fenrir Grayback in a triple threat werewolf match.
Voldemort/Snape duel. (Aaah, aaah, pretty interesting, pretty interesting).
Winner goes on to fight Harry Potter.
A good training montage for Harry like rocky, where it shows him blasting things out of the way and that, and possibly..... Grawp ****ing **** up with a dragon.
