Question I left two chicken breast out over night...safe to eat?

I cooked chicken breast last night around 10:30.

Left them out and just now realized.

Are they fine to eat today?

    they're fine

as long as the meat was fresh when you bought it, they're fine. i leave mine overnight to thaw out and then refridgerate until the eve when i'm ready to cook it. the meat should be odorless.

I do that all the time... with chicken.. beef... rice... anything that gets cooked in a pan. It stays on the stove overnight 75% of the time. I have not gotten sick in almost a year. Then again, I spent 2 years in Central America while working so my stomach is pretty cast iron from that..

Any meat that hasn't been cooked within 3 hours of being out of the fridge, or anything that has been sitting out after being cooked for longer than 3 hours is definitely going to be thrown out by me. I try to get things in the fridge ASAP. Usually within 1 to 1.5 hours.

Um leaving some COOKED chicken or steak overnight outside the refrigerator is completely different.

You realize you ate raw food 3 days old, what on earth were you thinking?

Do you guys realize that you can leave an egg out of your fridge overnight and it will still be good to cook the next day?

Eggs are completely different as they are in the shell, but yeah, you can leave eggs out. We refrigerate them to prolong the shelf life to 3 weeks. They are good for days left out.

Interesting fact though: An egg left outside of the refrigerator for one day = an egg left in the refrigerator after one week. Hence, rate of deterioration is basically 7x faster if left outside.

But you'd be surprised, we did a lab on eggs and my professor had an egg that was left out for a week. When cooked, it was still edible.

You realize you ate raw food 3 days old, what on earth were you thinking?

Do you guys realize that you can leave an egg out of your fridge overnight and it will still be good to cook the next day?
I'm not going to argue with you but there is still a possiblity of salmonella growing again on unrefridgerated cooked chicken. And the sushi was store bought, which usually means it is imitation crab meat, which it was (cooked pollock).

I leave (cooked) chicken out overnight all the time, never once have gotten sick. If it was uncooked, I'd probably toss it.

Tasted completely fine. The only difference you notice right off the bat is that the yolk color isn't quite as vibrant, and the white is a little runny, taste wise I couldn't really tell that much. Maybe if I had a real egg along side with it, I could better tell the difference. But it wasn't nasty.
