^^ lol someone's optimistic.
Honestly, I lost a lot of hope back when Mitchell was fired. Brb, firing a coach cause he's 8-9 but was coach of the year the season before.
We haven't been close to being a .500 team ever since. Raps need an overhaul imo

Mitchell was a great players coach, but a horrid X's and O's coach, along with Butch Carter. Players sorta lose respect in a coach when at the end of a game, the assistants are doing more strategic planning, than the head coach.
We don't have the 1 vs 1 talent we had on Mitchell's/Carter's teams, but the players are buying into whatever Casey is coaching/teaching them which is way more important IMO. Here's a system, and identity, now play, no making $hit up as we go along. He'll get more out of lesser talent, kinda like Jerry Sloan got out of some of his role players back in the day.
I remember when we traded Camby for Oakley I was like WTF at first, then later realized that his toughness gave the Rap's a measure of respect around the league. Camby may have blocked 3/game, but to some opponents, the thought of an Oakley forearm to the head/chest, helped the Raptors porous D and rebounding, way more on that end IMO. I'm seeing the same sorta thing in Casey, he's got the team in a mindset, and it looks to me that opponents are more willing to settle for a jumper against us than they once were.

BC done redeemed himself with the Kyle Lowry trade. Great for our team, we were trying to acquire him before the draft deadline and the trade price was fair.
Lotta ppl on d2jsp saying its gonna be forsure a playoff team atleast and we still have room to make more moves if we decide to amnesty Jose. Dunno what's left on the FA/trade board though.reps for life:theheffnerr, AlphaMisc, Ancient Olympia

There's a rumour around that we might do a swap with Philly... Jose, Ed, DD for Iggy, Vuc.
IF that comes to pass I'd say that it might be BC's most successful summer as Raps GM.
PG - Lowry
SG - Fields
SF - Iggy
PF - Bargs
C - Val
6th man: Ross
That lineup has some potential IMO.

sounds real good but why would they trade AI after having a successful playoff run last year and looking full of promise? took Celtics to 7.
that and DD and Ed are one of the two vocal pro-toronto players on the team lulz.
Nash not signing with Toronto even tho he had other legit reasons to sign with LA gotta be a another big blow to the bad rep Toronto has as a desirable city to play for.reps for life:theheffnerr, AlphaMisc, Ancient Olympia

It does, but I don't see the trade with Philly happening until Dwight finally makes his friggin' mind up. Apparently Philly is trying to make a run also.
I know it doesn't make sense, but AI caused some in house friction a few times last year, also believe it or not, Jrue is asking for a max contract lolol. But it does look like they want to trade AI, and I was pretty sure it was going to happen last year (but they had a great run going) when out of the blue, Evan Turner went from playing say 15mpg, to over 40, overnight. Philly's strength was being able to bring Lou Williams and Thaddeus Young in off the bench, and my guess is they want them to start this year, seeing as they have to shell out some $$ to keep Jrue and drop someone some salary (though Jose's expiring contract is attractive)
x2, DeMarr is just too frustrating to watch on the defensive end, and Ed progress is getting there, but I was expecting his game would be a little better than it was right out of college.
lol, don't forget DD starting either. Don't know how we were such a good defensive team, with such poor rebounding at times. Meh
Sometimes the best defence is played on the offensive end, picking up fouls on the other teams key players, and having them sit. Other than Barg's, nobody on the team ever does this (especially Amir, and his lack of any resemblance of an offensive game). So when the other team is allowed to be totally aggressive on D, not having to worry about picking up cheap fouls, our offense has to grind out each play pretty much, and the defence has to grind it out vs the other teams top players throughout the WHOLE game.
I'm just curious as to why Houston is parting with Lowry so easily. The kid was a monster last year (until he got hurt), and for Forbes and a protected pick I think, that's even better than giving up our 8th pick this year.
There's only a couple more moves I'd like to see BC make, and one is to hold on to Jose's expiring contract til the trade deadline, and pitch Bayless instead, and two, find a nice home for DD and Amir (especially his Yogi Stewart contract)
