Let's say i try to eat 6 egg whites, 1-2 whey protien shakes, and atleast one meal with chicken and one meal with oatmeal. Is that too much, too little or about right?

How do you know if you're eating too much protein?
If you're fighting with the dog for table scraps, you might be eating too much protein.
If you pass wind and the mayor declares your town a disaster area, you might be eating too much protein.
If you stand on the highway holding a sign reading "Will work for BEEF", you might be eating too much protein.
If you ever considered getting a job at a slaughterhouse, you might be eating too much protein.
If your mom visits the butcher while shopping for your birthday gift, you might be eating too much protein.
If your girlfriend says she has something special for you to nibble on tonight and you hope its a porterhouse, you might be eating too much protein.
If you have ever had dinner with In-Human and said the words "You gonna finish that?", you might be eating too much protein.
If your stomach growls when you watch the Discovery channel, you might be eating too much protein.
If the guys at the meat counter at the local buffet know you by name, you might be eating too much protein.
If you consider 4 double cheeseburgers something to tide you over until dinner, you might be eating too much protein.
If you chase the Boarshead truck the way kids chase the Good Humor Man, you might be eating too much protein.
Ok, so Im bored.
In all seriousness, its highly unlikley you're eating too much. Most people dont get enough. You should be getting 1.5-2 grams per pound of bodyweight minimum every day if your goal is to add muscular bodyweight. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over...

Actually, that doesn't really sound like enough. You should be having a meal with some sort of digesting protein every 2-3 hours. But the spacing also depends somewhat on what sort of protein you are having. You didn't tell us what sort of protein shakes you are having, but if those are whey, it'll digest in a little over an hour so you'll need to eat much more often. So generally other than maybe PWO or breakfast whey isn't the best idea. You are best off going to the nutrition section.

Keep a food log tracking calories, carbs, fiber, and protein. Also keep a log of your body stats like bodyfat %, weight, and size of your waist. Eat as much protein as your body can process before converting in into fat or increasing your waist. If you're gaining fat, you would need to adjust a portion of your diet/training.
I keep a food log on daily basis. Body stat log on weekly basis.
