there are tons articles on protein on BB.com including a feature on it this week. yes, the source of protein does matter.
For example:
Animal Proteins (meat): all amino acids are present to make a complete protein
Plant Proteins: do not have all amino acids to make a complete protein (w/ exception of soy)
Also, different types of proteins have different rates of absorbtion in the body.
Whey: Fast absorbing
Cassien: Slow absorbing (found in milk)
These are just some of the basics but look up the articles on bb.com to learn how to use different types of protein to your advantage at different times.
For example:
Drink whey immediately after your workout to quickly absorb protein into your body.
Drink milk before bed so you can absorb protien while you sleep.
Here is a good article that covers a lot of info on different types of proteins: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/topicoftheweek84.htm"The best inspiration is not to outdo others but to outdo ourselves."
