If you like whiskey, try a Jameson and Water. Whenever I go out and want to stay away from beer, I drink that. Also, if you want to drink beer, stay dark. I find that I don't drink dark beer as fast too and get full faster on dark beer so I end up enjoying it more and drinking less.

"But a beer, all by itself, won?t significantly affect your weight one way or another. Some studies have shown that beer helps to reduce triglycerides and LDL (LDL is the bad sort of cholesterol), problems that are often associated with obesity." Shereen Jegtvig, Certified Nutrition Specialist.

Just don't eat when you drink and don't drink everyday. For me, I drink once a week. And don't eat when you drink, alcohol pretty much stops your metabolism completely.
