Flat DB Bench (warmup 30'sx15, 50'sx10) 80's x 9/5/3 = 17 rest pause reps
Cybex Shoulder Press (warmup 20x12) 70 x 6/4/4 = 14 rest pause reps
Skullcrushers (light pushdown warmup) 115 x 7/4/3 = 14 rest pause reps
Close Grip Pulldown (warmup 50x10, 150x10) 200 x 6/4/2 = 12 rest pause reps
Deadlifts (warmup hyperextensions, 225x5) 405 x 0 (missed), 405 x 0 (missed), 315 x 5
Comments: Learn from your mistakes. I put 405 on a pedestal. I psyched myself out. I was thinking about it all day yesterday, when I went to bed, when I woke up in the middle of the night, all day today. I made the weight heavier in my mind. I just totally psyched myself out of pulling it.
And then I realized after I missed it. Twice. Why am I doing this? I should be working on increasing my weights in the hypertrophy range. If I wouldn't have missed it twice and taxed myself so hard, I probably could have pulled that 315 for 10. Maybe more even. Stop lifting ego weights, GK, focus on hypertrophy, focus on your goals.
Before that, the workout was kickass. I was pushing the weight for reps that I didn't think I would get out. Where my mind would normally break, I was focusing with a angry intensity and pushing through the wall. Overall, before my ego got the best of me, a great workout. Live & learn.
