Harbinger Straps with Rubber Ridges

http://www.harbingerfitness.com/cgi-...cgi?20600&&sku

I bought a pair to try out. This is my review:

Construction Quality: 10/10
Appearance: 9/10
Grip: 6/10
Comfort: 3/10

First impression:
These were painful. Whoever decided to use nylon didn't do any market research. These dug into my wrists way too much. The nylon was also too stiff to wrap around the bar effectively with one hand.

Thoughts:
After 20-30 uses, these might soften to the point of making them a good choice. The way they are new though, made them useless to me. The rubber ridges did grip the bar well for pullups, but didn't help will pulldowns. The only exercise these would be OK for would be deads, but I don't really use straps at all for those. I did not try shrugs with these, but the stiffness would make them get in the way of anything done with DB's. BB may be OK.

Compare:
I have a set of plain cotton straps too. These were stronger, but the stiffness made them too difficult to use. I have yet to break any cotton straps either though.

Overall, I would not recommend these, even at $8, unless your willing to suffer through a long break in period.

I have the padded Harbingers (the 2nd link on the right side of the page).

Very similar except they have a wrist pad.

Hate to break it to you but I've been using them for deads for more than a year and it still hurts my wrist.

I took them back after the gym and ordered a set of ironmind straps. Same price except the cost of shipping.

I bought a pair similiar to those and after the 1st use I vowed never to use them again. Just like you the construction and appearence were great. Grip was no more than average at best. Comfort sucked arse. After some heavy bb rowing and shrugs my wrist were tore the fudge up. Never again will I use a non cotton material grip.

I just bought these straps and they are horrible...they were $10 from Dicks. Can anyone recommend non slip straps other than these?
