Cool Slight chest injury?

Ok here is the deal. I am 5'10 212. Bench around 365. Squat 510 and Deadlight 520. I first noticed this unusual discomfort in my pectoral muscles close to the sternum after I benched. It felt like a slight tear. When I went to get up I noticed I needed to baby it so I rolled a bit to the side instead of just popping up. The discomfort lasted a few days. Then I noticed it more when I was squatting. After the first set of warming up with 225 it felt odd. I have noticed it on Bench press, decline, and squats. I had the MD look at it did a chest x ray. One from the front, one from the side. Nothing was present, I really don't think an X ray would have reveled anything but hey his advice. It hurts to shrug my shoulders in like a peck deck would. I am just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem.

try a good massage therapist... tell them to work pectoralis major, pectoralis minor, and sub calvius. do deep tissue massage with stretching. if you need any other advice feel free to email me. I know it seems like I keep saying the same thing, but all the muscles keep changing based on the presentation of pain... I think this is more of a pec minor thing tho.

I am not trying to advertise but if anyone is in the dfw metro with problems like these feel free to email me and I will help all I can either by working on you or refering you to another great therapist.

good luck

Ouch i hate niggles.

better deal with this now unless it becomes something major especially as you are putting up big numbers the propsensity for further and long term injury is a real possibility.

no the x ray will reveal nothing except bone damage. You need to have an ultrasound or a ct scan, but most probably an ultrasound. these are both harmless and unobtrusive proceedures.
