Does pooping often = faster metabolism?

My friend's mom is a nutritionist, and somehow we got into a conversation about how often we sit on the throne. My one friend said he goes about twice a day, and then my friend with the nutritionist mom says "That means you have a fast metabolism, my mom told me."

I'm wondering if this is true or not, because lately I've been going about twice a day and I'm wondering if my metabolism is FINALLY running like it should have been all these years, or if it's just a myth.

The label of "nutritionist" doesn't mean a damn thing. I can print out business cards that say I am a "nutritionist" as well. Registered Dietetician is the only label that you should put any faith in. They have to go to school and take tests to get certified as a R.D.

My dad ****s literally 5 times a day, and he's at about 20-22% body fat. Now how fast do you think his metabolism is?

It may mean your digestive system is humming along due to the types of foods and liquids you consume, but metabolism? Don't think so.

Fiber by itself isn't enough. You need to be drinking plenty of water too. I only go #2 once or twice a day, and that's fine with me. Maybe your digestive system is a little slower, no big deal.

    Consumption

I have never heard the metabolism theory but the truth is fecal matter is undigested waste containing metabolic components and other trace elements. Your digestive tract works according to its own efficiency level depending on how you treat it. Enzymatic activity on a positive scale can aid in more efficient digestion but there wil always be waste. The quantity of the waste depends on many factors, two of which are a properly working and maintained complete digestive system consisting of absorption levels at their peak levels and the bioavailability of food as it breaks down within its own enzymatic structure. With that said it can be a combination of many factors and can be very complicated.

It is not just reflective of the type of food you are eating - hormones, drugs, stress and all sorts of other things can cause digestion to be faster or slower.

For example, hyperthyroidism can increase frequency. So can anxiety. Some pain killers (eg: codeine) can slow digestion time and cause constipation... Certain diseases can also cause increased rates (IBS, colitis etc).

    There are many things involved.

There is actually very little difference in resting metabolic rate between lean and obese people. Lean people are generally more active and self-regulate their calorific intake better. They also tend to burn more calories through NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) as well.

And ****ting has nothing to do with the speed of metabolism.
