Al-Majlis : A Majlis (literally "a place of sitting") is a place of gathering where people get together to discuss all kinds of things, or to simply hang out and have a good time with friends.
The prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a Majlis in which the companions (may God be pleased with them) would gather to learn about religion , discuss the state of their community and at the same time enjoy each other's company (they'd even joke around with each other).
Let this be a place where Muslims can do just that
This is a place where we can post Islamic articles, videos and other useful resources in an attempt to slow down the AAI thread and leave it more focused on questions and answers.
This is a portable Islamic library, movie theatre, cultural salon ,chill-out lounge and even tea-room all in one!
Enjoy

The prophet (pbuh) is our teacher who has, though his conduct, set the standards by which we measure our proximity to or farness from Islam.
We should look at our prophet's (pbuh) Majlis as an example to how we should conduct ours. Here's a portrayal of how the Prophet's (pbuh) majlis was :
1-The prophet (pbuh) neither stood up or sat down except with the remembrance of God
2-He (pbuh) didn?t appoint himself a special sitting place in the Majlis
3-And if he (pbuh) realized a Majlis afer everyone were already seated, he would simply sit where there was an empty space
4-He (pbuh) mostly used to sit in the direction facing the qiblah.
5-He (pbuh) used to equally pay attention to all those attending so that none would think he (pbuh) was favoring any other person above him
6-His gatherings were ones of patience, modesty , humility and honesty
7-Voices were not raised in his Majlis
8-He (pbuh) has always maintained a pleasant expression, was good natured and gentle.
9- Of his conduct with his companions (mGbpwt), that he (pbuh) was neither loud, obscene ,mocking nor slandering
10_He (pbuh) used to call his companions (mGbpwt) with the names dearest to them in order to ennoble them and win their hearts.
11- He (pbuh) used to say "Subhan Allahum wa behamdak. Ashhadu an la Ilah illa Ant. Astaghferek wa atub illiak", "All praise and Glory be to you, I testify that there's no god but You. I seek your fogiveness and to you I repent" when leaving his Majlis

Wa alaykum salam wa rahmat Allah wa barakat
lol, She apologized once we finished...we generally spend the day saying yella to each other. Actually, the three of us tend to make a lot of suicide-bombing/Taliban jokes among each other when the restaurant is empty.
"Yella your face" came from her, I thought it was funny so I stole it.

This research made me wonder how come we don't have that prominent female scholars in our modern world. Certainly we have many notable women scholars, but none have reached the scholarly qualifications that makes them a source of knowledge for their male counterparts (none I know of, at least) . It seemed pretty odd to me to find that women in Early Islam could achieve a status, most women can't in our modern Islamic world with all the "equality" and "liberation" talk going on.

Lol , most products dont expire exactly on the date and manufactors usually make the expired date 3-4 months under the origin expire date for saftey.
