Yeah mate, I saw Chelsea play in Tottenham (at the ground, obviously) and their travelling fans instantly turned me into one: they were alpha. Patto is good, he will bowl better at lords, guaranteed; bird will surprise a few English fans. Broad is a pest to non-English fans, how I imagine someone like ponting (clearly in a different dimension as a player, but I digress) would have been for you blokes.

Agreed. i'm lucky enough to go to all Chelsea away games (away season ticket), the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge can be a bit crap, but the ones who travel, we're the best away fans around. Course i'm biased, but when 3,000 of you are throwing celery about, surrounded by 40,000 home fans and still make more noise than them.. no better feeling.
Bird should play tomorrow imo, he seems like a poor man's McGrath to me, he was always great at Lords. Starc seems like the second coming of Mitchell Johnson, only without the occasional brilliance. i remember the first day of the Lords test in 2009 when Johnson was all over the place and Cook and Strauss put on 200ish, we were on pace for 400 in the day at one stage. Australia never got back into that one, they can't afford that from Starc 4 years later.

Some guy got pulled over by a copper after he got off the train for having a pipe and claimed that he was a "plumber", was the funniest thing I have seen in real life.
I know he'll score a hundred after saying this, but Root, despite how much the English media hypes him up, isn't the future messiah of your top order - Strauss was in a different class to him (even though I thought he was a *******).Die Antwoord is GOAT crew

Haha, that sounds about right. Wouldn't be surprised if he gave his name as Mario aswell.
The thing with Root is that he's just a kid. He made his debut as a 21 year old, Strauss was a late developer and made his debut at 27. Agreed that Root probably won't be tearing it up this summer, and probably not in the return series over the winter. The next series in 4 years though? He's going to be right at the top of the game imo.
Bit like Cook, he got a century in one of his first Ashes tests in Perth back in 2006. Root is too good not to get one or two over the 10 games, but he's one for the future. i'd like James Taylor in the middle order over Bairstow personally, they just don't seem to want to give him a chance, probably because of him being a 5'4 manlet, but yeah.

I work at the school james taylor used to go to ( boarding ), i met him a few weeks ago he is a nice guy srs realy down to earth, he perfroms well for lions i think he needs a proper run in the england squad .
on another note another kid who's dad owns one of the biggest cricket equipment companies in the world went to the same school and has absolutely slaughtered all of James Taylor's league and school records, the coaches reckon he will play for England before he is 20, he is about 14 now i thinkultimate no fap destroyer - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=147914653

Sounds good! Hopefully with Root it's a sign we're going to be getting them in whilst they're still young.
Totally agree about Taylor deserving a good run, Bairstow has had more than enough chances and he isn't cutting it for me.
Remeber Hildreth at Somerset? He scored runs for fun over a 5-7 year period and he never even got a game. Looks to me like Taylor could be going the same way.

Yeah it seems to of gone from one extreme to the other. Back in the '90's they used to bring in 5 new players from county cricket every game lol.
Players played for their average's because they knew one bad score and they were out. Those days are gone, and it's a good thing, but you do have to find the right balance.
