I got Lyme disease!!!!
Damn! I got myself tested for Lyme and I'm positive! And the worst thing is I cannot remember having been biten by a tick! I was in the wood a few weeks ago and I suddenly had a small red spot but I didn't really think that this could have been a tick because I found no tick on my body. What if I have been having lyme for many many years and got it as a child and didn't even know it?
This stuff can attack the joints and the heart!
I have to take doxycycline now, 200mg a day for 3 weeks. But there is one questions which I ask myself. I few months ago I had to take doxycycline because of my skin for 2 months and I took 100mg every day. If I got the lyme disease years ago then would the doxycycline already have killed it or is it possible that 100mg simply wasn't enough?
Because I read that if you take too little doxy then it will make the lyme even worse! If I already had the lyme back then and took 100mg doxy a day then it either killed the lyme, which would mean that my infection is a new one, or it didn't kill it and might even have made it worse.
But what sucks the most is that I have no clue when a tick bite me. I usually don't go to the woods. In the past 2 years I have been in the woods 2 times and I always examined myself afterwards and found nothing.
I don't know if I can train with this or if I have to wait until the lyme is gone.

I will. This sucks. Is this dangerous? From what my doctor told me all I have to do is take the antibiotics and then it'll be okay. :/

I wouldn't lift man. Wait until you're better. Lifting weights helps the immune system in the long run but in the short term it weakens it, so just wait until you get over this stuff.

Unless your drinking where there is a ****load of flies, then there isnt really a need to put fruit in your beer, thats what it is for, to keep the flies out of your bottle, they dont like citrus!

But I have to take the tablets for 3 weeks!!! Does this mean 3 weeks no lifting? But I have been lifting all the time and I don't even know how long I have been having this. Maybe for years and years! Damn!

Dude, stopping for 3 weeks is not gonna affect your gains. You will lose some strength simply from coordination but you'll get that back in a week or two. Just take it easy on your first week back to the gym and you should be fine.

Damn! But I don't want to stop lifting. I don't even know if this makes sense at this point. Either the infection is from a few weeks ago where I was in the woods and I also trained the whole time in the meantime because my doctor told me it's okay. I asked him about it and he said I don't have to do anything special and stay in bed.
OR the infection is MUCH older and I have it for years now and I have been training all the freakin' time.
What do I do now? I read that if you have been having it for a long time the antibiotics often do not even work anymore! My joints also hurt every now and then but the doctors could not find anything. What if the lyme has already attacked my joints? Is this reversible?

I'm obviously late the the scene here.... but 200mg/day for 3 weeks is a joke of a prescription.
It's not enough AT ALL!
