Only 20 LBS to go!!! What to do?
Hello! I've been avidly working out since the age of 11 (I was an overweight kid). Now, I'm 19 and I'm trying to compete in a pageant (which I have exaclty ONE year to prepare). This pageant doesn't have any size requirements, but fitness is KEY to winning, bottom line.
The Plan: I will be taking Hydroxycut Hardcore (low-dosage: 1 pill, 2x daily) as well as a B-Vitamin & Biotin supplement daily. I am pescetarian (I only eat freshwater fish & veggies) and I will do cardio for 30 minutes, 5 days/week, and salsa dance 1x per week. What do I need to change:
My Stats
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 146.6 lbs
BF%: 20% (rounded)
My Goal
Weight: 122.0 lbs
BF%: 12% (or less)
I want to start seeing changes within 6-8 weeks. Any suggestions! Thanks!

Have you tried a keto diet yet? (60% fat/ 35% protein/5% carbs)
Here is the forum: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/forumdisplay.php?f=61
Even though you are using fish as your sole source of meat, you could still do it - heck I've seen bodybuilders live on canned tuna, so it obviously can be done. And I did keto for a month eating only eggs and tuna as my main protein sources.

that sounds neat! I wanna give it a try. But can I still eat some veggies?
And 60% fat... I think I'd end up getting more protein than fat. Fish isn't really fatty like meat is, so I'd be like 60% Protein and 35% fat... i dunno
I like that idea, I should look into that....

Of course - you are supposed to eat veggies while on it - but what you need to watch are the starchy veggies, but I have a few substitutes, like fried turnips and radishes - they taste sort of like friend potatoes and onions.
I tend to eat a lot of broccoli and tons of salad while on it. Green veggies are your friends on keto.
You get the fat by adding in oils. I mainly use Extra virgin Olive oil - uncooked. If you cook with it, it starts to turn rancid at a certain point.

Drink lots of water. Hydroxycut can really dehydrate you.
Stick to the fish and veggies if thats what you like. Baked, grilled, sauteed are all good. NO Fried!
My question is if your already a pescetarian and basically only eat fish and veggies, then what else were you eating that made you gain weight? Are you asian? My wife is asian and eats a lot of white rice with her fish, and white rice will make you gain weight. If thats the case, you should switch to brown rice.

No, I became pescetarian from being a vegetarian. I didn't gain weight though, I've actually lost 15 from being vegetarian. Now I want a lil bit of seafood in my diet to increase protein...
I didn't know that about the water...thanks
