White stuff coming out of my tonsils...
I have ragged tonsils and every now and then I can see yellow/white chunks coming out of them. Sometimes I have this stuff in my mouth. It smells really bad. I reported this to my doctor and he said that this has nothing to do with the tonsils being infected this stuff is rather like sebum which gets clogged in there and then pops out. Or when I press on the tonsils then the white stuff comes out. Does anyone of you also have this? But somehow this concerns me. What if he is wrong and the tonsils are indeed infected and I don't know it and keep working out and then the bacteria attack my heart? This sucks.

I had tonsilitis, a certain kind where you get a bacterial/fungus infection and you do indeed see what looks like cottage cheese stuck in your throat, lol. Would get a better doctor or at least a 2nd opinion.

My doc told me to not get them taken out. I also don't have a tonsilits as far as I know. I only get this white stuff every now and then and I don't know if this is harmless or not.

Im a misc dotcor, dammit, and I already told you. They're tonsil stones.
They are harmless. There are things you can take to basically resolve the problem. Having your tonsils out would also eliminate them but as your doctos told you not too....

there was a thread on this yesterday. its like a calcium deposit that smells really bad or something like that. not harmful but people get it if they dont brush very well. pick them bitches out with a tooth pick and gargle some listerene every morning

But the surgery is not without risk. My doc warned me that the scar can start to bleed again after the surgery. Sometimes you might even need a second emergency surgery if the scar is torn open.

X2 i had it before and its harmless but very much worth getting them out...although most docs wont take ur tonsils out until you have history of strep throat.

It's harmless. Gargle with some salt water. Use a q-tip or whatever else to remove it. It's annoying, but nothing that you can't live with, and no, it's not an infection.
