I'm the kind of guy who usually like to get a good 8 hours of sleep each night, however when I'm on ZMA I tend to only sleep 5-7 hours a night. I'm not sure if it's just the warm weather that's getting me up earlier these days or the ZMA itself. When you're on ZMA and wake up all of a sudden, does that mean the ZMA's done its thing and it's time ot get up? I feel pretty rested after the 6 hours sleep, but I still feel like I'm cheating myself. Any clue?

I am in the same boat as you. I sleep so much less on nights when I take ZMA then on nights when I don't take it. I also wake up suddenly for no reason. I'm totally alert and it is not really a good feeling since I haven't been sleeping very long. Makes me feel somthing in the ZMA is a stimulant. I used to take ZMASS PM. Quit just because of the sleeping problems.
All the 'salespeople' say you will sleep like a rock when taking ZMA, but that's just for sales.
At least I'm not the only one with this problem.

I have been using ZMA for 4 weeks now and I sleep like the dead....a solid 10 hours a night. I have never heard of this issue before. interesting.

I have the same problem. I sleep 11-12 hours a night when I don't take ZMA, then when I do, I sleep 9-10. It seems to save me 2 hours a night. The reason why i think it helps is because I feel the same off 9 hours of sleep on ZMA then I do when I sleep 11 hours a day without ZMA. So my only guess would be it intensifies my sleep. I also wake up frequently in the night.

Its the weirdest thing because I just experienced the same thing as you guys, only I am not taking ZMA. I went to bed at 1:30 last night, had a little trouble falling asleep, then woke up at 7. I'm normally good to sleep for at least 10 hrs if no one wakes me up. Yesterday was my first day of the bodybuilder's NHE diet, I had over 300g of fat, which is supposed to raise testosterone. Hmmmm...

ever since i started taking zma everynight i would have great sleeps, for about 2-3 months i always took it and even when i stopped for a week, i had crazy dreams still, but im back on it and getting good sleeps. its weird though, for the week i stopped, i still had crazy dreams, but i could hardly fall asleep
I was very fortunate to live in this time when bodybuilding was embraced by Hollywood, embraced by doctors, embraced by the world.

I say we get that embracement back!

Tried Twinlabs, didn't get the same results as I did with Prolab, for whatever reason. Prolab sticks to the basics, the others often add their "proprietary blend" to whatever they make. Prolab makes a good quality product whether it be creatine, glutamine, whatever. It may cost a bit more, but worth it IMO to know what you're getting.
I've had the same experience with sleeping less, but it could be the eating & drinking before bedtime that causes that. Still, you wake up feeling like you want to hit the gym.
