Shoes and suits?

I have a quick questions about shoes for figure competitions, do they have to be clear and do they have to be a certain height? Also as far as suits go, I know from seeing pics from tylersmommy (you go girl) that soem people do comps without posing suits, what do suits run, cost wise? I am tryin to get a grasp on the cost before I commit. Thanks for the input

hey Leen, for shoes, yes, they should be clear - i've seen girls who have some with little fake crystals or whatever on them though in a little line, and those are pretty. it seems the standard heel height is 4 or 5 inches. check out http://www.bikini-beach.com/pumps16.htm - ignore the last two pics - overboard! i got the ones in the second pic, and they are very comfortable actually. i've heard other girls get the shoes for cheaper elsewhere, but this is the only link i have right now!

as far as suits are concerned, if you don't know anyone who competes (and whose suits you could either borrow or buy!), cynthia james makes very nice suits. she IS expensive though (seems like most of the suits i've seen run $300-$800 - specially made). i believe there are a couple of threads on bb.com forums that will tell you other places to get suits. just do a search and they should come up.

Thank you Chpl, I am 5'9" tho and wasnt sure if I needed the height of the heels. I also read an article about judges not liking platforms as they distort the leg from their view point.
There is no way I can afford the passionfruit ones, as beautiful as they are, it is going to be my first comp and I need to prove to myself I can do it before I invest the money.
