Question Where do you get your MP3 music?

I'm about to dive into the land of MP3's. I've decided on the player (Creative Zen Touch) and I'm going through the internet looking at where to download music. Too many choices!

Do any of you have sites you can recommend?

    Thanks!
The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

If you want to pay for the music then there aren't many choices for straight mp3's. The songs are in a protected format. If you burn the songs to cd (in regular cd format) then you can rip them off into mp3's. That said I would go with itunes.

iTunes is fantastic, but I could never get the files I downloaded to play on a conventional mp3 player. That's why I bought an iPod in the first place. I'm sure there's a way to convert the files, but they aren't mp3s...they're m4ps.

iTunes. I have a personal integrity thing that pushes me to pay for my music, but I just can't justify buying an entire CD for one or even a few songs. This way, it's only ~$.99/song, and albums are still available, if desired, most are $9.99.

what I said above.. you have to write your songs to cd (using the cd audio format) then set your itunes so it rips to mp3 instead of mp4, then rip them back off the cd. Voila, mp3's.

I bought my mp3 player before protection came out for the wma's and RCA refuses to put out an update to let me put protected songs on my player. So it was either get a new player or find out how to make mp3's.

Go check out www.allofmp3.com . It is a russian website, when you logon click the link in the upper right I believe to change the site to english. I have used it for almost a year and it is awesome. It has most new releases a couple of weeks after they come out and it is pretty cheap, like $1 an album, but you can download individual songs. I have also never had any security problems with it.

Smile New MP3 and CD player

My boyfriend just got me a new player for my birthday last week and he got me a Sony brand player that came with a program to put on your computer. Now, I can go to the site (www.connect.com), pick the songs I want and they're all 99 cents each. Some you have to buy the album, but most are individually sold.

Like this - the Library! Half the good CD's never actually hit the shelf though because there are soo many holds on them. But if you find a whole bunch you like put a hold on them all and eventually they roll in every few weeks, so its great!

    Thumbs up

Yahoo music engine is great. You can pay monthly or get a yearly subscription. It allows you to download as many songs as you want for one flat rate. The only catch is you have to plug the MP3 player in every so often or they lock and you can't play them until you plug it in. Or you can buy the songs for 99 cents each. Napster has a similiar program as well but its a bit more expensive. You can get a free 7 day tril of either.

It depends on what type of file the songs are.....go to where you store your songs....there should be a "type" column, if it says Mp3 then you should have no problem. When I download music they are already Mp3's so I don't have to worry about converting, plus I don't even know how to convert.

Since you have all that music already you just need to transfer it to the Mp3 program that comes with yoru Mp3 player.
