Yukon Denali or plain Yukon
First, I am not here to get any remarks about global warming and how SUVs are killing the environment.
Ok, we are getting an SUV cuz the sedan is just not cutting it when it comes to chauffeuring kids around.
It is between the Yukon Denali and the regular Yukon.
The Denali is just cool, but expensive. The regular Yukon is good, but not flashy.
I like flashy.
So, what you buy if money wasn't an issue? If you could afford the Denali, would you get it even though it is extravagant??
Or would you get the Yukon and save your other money for things like retirement and swimming pools in the back yard??
Thanks.

I loved driving the denali when i worked at a GMC dealership.. although the 6.2 liter in the nali will definitely suck up a lot more gas than the 5.3liter, even with active fuel management. They're both nice trucks though.

Yukon's aren't trucks, they're SUV's. Some what of a difference.
Anyway
I'm not a big fan of SUV's but if I were in the market for one I'd go with the new Highlander. Deprecitation is bitch though. But the Denali does look nice.

I am also considering the Lexus RX and the GMC Acadia (it is a crossover SUV).
But Husband wants a Yukon, but I can overrule him because I will be paying the car note.

well what are you looking for? luxury? power? status?
i picked up an infiniti fx45 back in february... its a crossover suv as well- v8 4.5L 320hp... it could be faster [but i go reallllly fast ]... its not my daily driver but its an awesome truck... you could get the 35 which is a v6 and cheaper and get the sport package if you want the 20" wheels, etc...

I would go with the regular Yukon.
My wifes suburban was the most loaded suburban the dealership had sold that year. Big mistake when you have kids. Between hauling the kids around and all their sports gear, all that flashy interior does is make it cost more to replace stuff if/when it gets broken or torn. The difference between her custom leather seats and the factory original leather was $400 for a replacement of nothing but the fabric.
My thoughts are, at least from now on since I have learned a few things, is to buy something that doesnt cost as much when the kids are little because they will find ways to tear it up. I am very picky when it comes to my vehicles I drive and just the wear and tear on my wifes vehicle from the kids bothers me. If I had paid $20,000 less for the "stock" suburban, it would not bother me as much.

I'd probably prefer Denali (yes Mount McKinley) to the plain ole Yukon territory of Canada. And unless your living in either of these places do the planet a favour and buy a car. How big is your family that you need a truck? seriously... americans ay.

I have an 07 Yukon Denali with every option available. It is a very nice rig and with the new 6.2L it runs well. Even with the weight of the truck and having 380 hp it is averaging around 16.5 mpg. It will get better once we get some more miles on it.
Before we bought it, I drove several large suv's, including the Armada, H2 hummer, etc.. Still went back to the Yukon.

There is a lot of kid paraphernalia that goes along with the kids. And an infant car seat is a bitch to deal with in a car. It barely fits in mine.
And we have a big ass boat to tow around.
And two Labradors that need to go to the vet.
So, do I qualify for an SUV now?

I was meaning to look into the escalade. I think I am stuck on the Yukon because I have always wanted one.

go to a chevy dealer and sit in a 50 thousand dollar tahoe, then go to a ford dealer and sit in a 50 thousand dollar king ranch expedition and let me know.
fords build quality has greatly improved in the last few years, can't say that about chevy, aside form the corvettes their cars feel cheap and plasticy....
