Unfortunately this isn't the first (and I'm assuming not the last) time I've seen a thread asking this same question.

Let me explain how this thing works. Protein builds muscle, you need it for muscle growth. When you go to the gym and you lift heavy weight, you're essentially tearing down muscle. The purpose of ingesting a lot of protein is when you tear down muscle, you'll have enough proein available in your body to build and repair the muscle even bigger. That's the reason why it's so important to not only ingest a lot of protein, but it's also important to get proper rest and not overtrain so your muscles can recover and have time to grow. So you shouldn't cycle off protein, you need to eat as much as you can.

Well, I've amended my mind on this. While I have no intention of trying it, varying your total protein intake (not just taking time off/cycling whey or anything), might be beneficial. But I guess that's not the question - or is it?
I mean we cycle carbs - niiick, sometimes in week cycles, rather than days.
But you'd want to do it slowly over at least weeks if not months.
Dunno anyone on a high protein diet that is going to purposely reduce their protein intake over 3-6 weeks though!
Although I guess some people do when they go from cutting at 2g/lb to bulking at 1-1.5g/lb?

Not unless your powder has a name like ".....Tech", "Susta....", or some other catchy name fabricated by marketing gurus to generate sales because it 'sounds' anabolic
