That's not torture, it's just a poor means of extermination.

I am not against humane extermination, but dropping live
animals off a 50 foot bridge and letting them crawl to
a highway is torture.

Puerto Rico tourism
I went to the Puerto Rico tourism site and emailed them to let
them know this hurts tourism. In case you want to do the same:
http://www.gotopuertorico.com/
Otherwise, I worry this will happen again, because every one
will just pass the buck when it comes time to take the blame.

NO IT'S NOT torture, the dogs crawling up the highway was incidential not intentional. Besides, the article says they dogs were injected first, that's hardly what someone who wants to torture an animal would do.
Poor judgement perhaps, torture no.

Torture ?
I call it torture because many animals were concious
when dropped 50 feet and some then crawled to a highway,
My main point is that this is an intolerably cruel crime. So,
I let the Puerto Rico tourism office know that this does not help
their biz.

same here. they may just be "a dumb animal," to other people, but to us, it's like messing with our children, so they need to watch who they f*ck with.

Poor pets. Man if someone did that to my cat I'd go on a rampage.

Right! Don't mess with the cats. Just a reminder- keep track of your cats as much as possible or keep them inside because it's Halloween season and lots of sicktards are out to harm cats, especially black cats!
Is that your cat in the picture?

Nah, she's back home with my family. No Halloween over there but we still keep her in all the time.

Is it just me, or has America recently become hyper-conscious of animal rights? It seems everywhere I look there is a thread/story about something offending the sensibilities of Americans with regards to animals.
Is there any recent reason why this should be the case?

I am sure it isn't the policy. However, in LatAm, it seems that a lot
of problems are ignored because everyone is able to escape the blame.
If we let the tourism board know that this cruelty is a deterrent to
tourism, I suspect the P.R. government might truly become serious
about preventing a reoccurence.

Humans are stewards of the Earth and should treat all life with respect. This is just an example of how all cultures are not equal. Personally, I don't think we should keep pouring money into PR. Either make it a state or give them independence and see how long they last.

I think they chose a poor method of termination, and deserve a curb stomping for throwing a live animal off a bridge.
Not that terminating a stray animal is wrong, because its better then letting them die of disease/starvation. But for goodness sakes find a humane way to do it, and don't touch anyones pet, stick to stray animals if they are a problem.
The fact that they took pets from a good home and killed them is fxcked up, even though technically the people had no right to the pets in the housing complex.

Considering an animal died for my leather couch, shoes, belt, and wallet, I would be a complete hypocrite to criticize them.
But hey, at least I look fashionable right?

A noble attitude, but I don't see how a nation that mistreats its dairy cattle more than any other Western country I know of, and has so many battery farms (as far as I know), can get so excited whenever others abuse animals. I think there are beams to deal with before the US gets into solving Puetro Rico's motes, put it that way.
