ATD - Site Specific Androgen Receptor Modulation
Hi, just found this on bb.com.
Site Specific Androgen Receptor Modulation
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/core_may_7.htm
Quote:
Recently many readers have been writing in asking questions about how to use one of the hottest new supplements to hit the market - ATD (3,17-dioxo-etiochol-1,4,6-triene).
ATD is possibly the greatest recent supplement breakthrough allowing for tremendous natural testosterone production and HPTA up-regulation. And no, I'm not talking about another "tribulus" or "deer antler velvet" supplement.
Natural athlete can benefit from significant increases (over 400%) in natural testosterone production as a result of ATD supplementation...
|
Anybody tried this stuff or know anything about it?
Just curious...

Thanks for the feedback!
Looks interesting.
I´m currently on a SD cycle. Was planning on using Nolva and Rebound for PCT. Would Ultra Hot be better than Rebound for PCT? Or could you use them together?

Yea my bad.
I somehow thought the article said that Ultra Hot was the only product containing ATD, but obviously not.
Quote:

Currently there are very few products I am aware of containing ATD. Whichever brand you choose, be aware that taking the correct dose is key. My own bias of course is ****'s Ultra H.O.T, which contains ATD plus other natural aromatase inhibitors and estrogen clearing compounds.
|
Thanks for the clarification.

Bump for more discussion, now that the price on ATD dropped like a rock.

Put me down for a NEGative response...I bought a bottle, did 3 a night for all of the 20 days it would last. Only thing I noticed was a messed up sleep pattern. I would fall asleep easier, sleep deep, wake up at wierd hours, sit up, then go right back to sleep. Weird stuff. I almost felt as if I bought a $40 bottle of ZMA, but with ZMA I never noticed the strange sleep patterns. I've noticed no other benefits from the Ultra HOT. I would however, give it one more shot, but make sure I did before/after testing of T levels, but that would be a ways off. I want to try the Giant Nutrition of Gaspari stuff first, see if I *notice* any differences.

you definetely would have noticed 75mg of ATD for 20 days. By the 5-7th day you would have sex drive comperable to a 500mg test cycle.

Does anybody really know how much ATD is in each capsule of Ultra Hot?
The ingredients show a proprietary blend of 250mg split across 5 ingredients.
You could have to take 6 capsules of Ultra Hot to get 75 mg of ATD.

how do your rectify your statements with this. Have you actually taken 500mg of test?
Horm Behav. 1989 Mar;23(1):10-26.
Effects of ATD on male sexual behavior and androgen receptor binding: a reexamination of the aromatization hypothesis.
Kaplan ME, McGinnis MY.
Department of Anatomy, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, CUNY, New York 10029.
The aromatization hypothesis asserts that testosterone (T) must be aromatized to estradiol (E2) to activate copulatory behavior in the male rat. In support of this hypothesis, the aromatization inhibitor, ATD, has been found to suppress male sexual behavior in T-treated rats. In our experiment, we first replicated this finding by peripherally injecting ATD (15 mg/day) or propylene glycol into T-treated (two 10-mm Silastic capsules) or control castrated male rats. In a second experiment, we bilaterally implanted either ATD-filled or blank cannulae into the medial preoptic area (MPOA) of either T-treated or control castrated male rats. With this more local distribution of ATD, a lesser decline in sexual behavior was found, suggesting that other brain areas are involved in the neurohormonal activation of copulatory behavior in the male rat. To determine whether in vivo ATD interacts with androgen or estrogen receptors, we conducted cell nuclear androgen and estrogen receptor binding assays of hypothalamus, preoptic area, amygdala, and septum following treatment with the combinations of systemic T alone. ATD plus T, ATD alone, and blank control. In all four brain areas binding of T to androgen receptors was significantly decreased in the presence of ATD, suggesting that ATD may act both as an androgen receptor blocker and as an aromatization inhibitor. Competitive binding studies indicated that ATD competes in vitro for cytosol androgen receptors, thus substantiating the in vivo antiandrogenic effects of ATD. Cell nuclear estrogen receptor binding was not significantly increased by exposure to T in the physiological range. No agonistic properties of ATD were observed either behaviorally or biochemically. Thus, an alternative explanation for the inhibitory effects of ATD on male sexual behavior is that ATD prevents T from binding to androgen receptors.

I won't defend ALR. However, there is some science that verifies his claims,
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/q...480&query_hl=3
Notice that in this study atd was able to block test binding in the hypothalamus, which is exactly what the poster was referring to.
This article shows that atd administered in conjunction with test still inhibited its effects in the poa, but did not effect mounting behavior (sex drive)
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/q...576&query_hl=3
This study shows that monkeys injected with atd showed considerable decreases in aromatase activity in the hypothalamus. In the non-castrated males, this led to a corresponding increase in lh and t levels.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/q...136&query_hl=6
With that said, these are animal studies, and it is hard to determine how the drug will work in humans. The bloodwork and anecdotal evidence I have seen so far seems to be overwhelmingly positive

No, but a ****load of 4-derm didn't come close to this. I compared my anecdotal experiences with the experiences of those who've pinned 500mg/week, and they were pretty much the same. There was a definite increase in DHT as well.

500mg of test a week is the equivalent of about 70mg of test a day. thats 700% more than high normal test production. Its just my opinion but unless you have actually used injectable test you should not make the comparison. 4derm is not injectable test and there are very few people that would say that it is comparable.
