Intro: Believe it or not, uhockey, the sarcastic fella you've all come to love (or dislike a great deal) finally got his MD and began residency. You can call me doctor, I guess, but honestly it still kinda weirds me out when people do. Anyhow, the field is Internal Medicine, with an endpoint undetermined but likely lying somewhere within the words of gastroenterology or geriatric endocrinology (yes, very different, but I have my reasons.)
To make a long story short: It is nothing like "Scrubs" or "Grey's Anatomy" and its not as funny as "House." Throw in an undying love for the gym and I'm pretty sure anyone will realize that lifting, eating clean, and working 12+ hours a day/6 days a week (with 30 hour call shifts every 4-6 nights) has the tendancy to wear you down, even if you are getting to bed around 10 nightly and managing 5-6 hours of sleep.
All things considering, I put a whole lot into achieving and maintaining my health when compared to my peers, and it is something I'm very proud of. Being able to preach the benefits of a life of healthy choices to patients while actually living it means a great deal to me. With that said, if I had to name my only failure in terms of health, I'd have to admit that I've been using stims for some time (pretty much daily or 5x a week for about 4 years) and I'll admit that what I've achieved could be classified as addiction. While I personally don't go over the top and have never touched anything questionabe or "grey," it is an addiction I wish I didn't have, but a necessary evil at this time.
Adrenal Fatigue Knowing the physiology, I'm well aware of the effects and signs of adrenal fatigue, but for those who aren't, here is a list from PAL's writeup (which rivals DS in terms of high quality writeups, I must say)
1 Morning Fatigue. Not seeming to "wake up" until 10am even though you've been up for 3 hours.
2 Middle of the Afternoon "Low". Sluggishness and clouded thinking in the middle of the day.
3 Burst of Energy around 6pm
4 Sleepiness around 9pm, but a "Second Energy Burst" around 11pm till 1am.
5 Mild Depression, Decreased Sex Drive and Lack of Energy
6 Muscular Weakness and declining endurance
7 Weight gain, with extreme difficulty in losing it
8 Unrelaxing or Unfulfilling Sleep
While I myself frequently suffer from 2,4,5 (this one is questionable,) 6,8 I KNOW that even when I'm functioning at 100%, I don't always feel stellar doing it. Thankfully, my diet and training keep me moving and my job doesn't wait for anything, so even when I'm tired I can manage to press on (occassionally with a few more caps of Basic Cuts.)
Sure, its "enough," but why not be better? As I said, despite the lifestyle, I'm usually pretty functional and usually feel pretty good, yet when I read about Reset AD, I was intrigued and asked for a sample in order to assess in myself and provide unbiased feedback.
My current schedule is:
Awake at 4:00am.
Eat Meal One
Gym at 5:00am.
Shower, drive to work by 6:25am.
Eat Meal Two at 8:00am
Meal Three at 12:00pm
Meal Four at 3:00pm
Done with work around 6:30-7:00pm
Meal Five when Home
Meal Six Before bed
Asleep by 10-10:30pm.
Reset AD taken with meal one and six. Other supplements consistent and irrelevant. Stims, usually pre-workout and again if neccessary around noon, but usually just ****ty free hospital coffee during the day.
Enough long winded bull****, on with the review
As there has never been a product like this, it is hard to "format" a review, so I will simply do it conversationally in response to the highlighted aspects of adrenal fatigue and my subjective and objective functioning.
The first thing to note is the long onset of action. It was literally not until approximately day 14 that I began to notice any effect, so for those who need that "right away" aspect, have a little patience. Once the product kicks in, you won't be disappointed.
Morning Fatigue. Not seeming to "wake up" until 10am even though you've been up for 3 hours.
This has never been a problem for me. I quite literally jump out of bed each morning and am running when my feet hit the ground. With Reset, I have noted that I feel subjectively "better" first thing in the morning, but I don't feel more awake.
Middle of the Afternoon "Low". Sluggishness and clouded thinking in the middle of the day.
This may be the big one for me. As you can imagine, with my schedule, this could be a problem and it has been in the past. My schedule is 12ish hours a day, 6 days a week, and when you throw in meal prep, training, and life maintenance (posting on bb.com and socializing) I definitely don't sleep enough. With that in mind, my stimulant usage has decreased and I both feel and function BETTER since beginning my trial of Reset. I'm sleeping about the same amount as I did in the past (5 hours on a good day,) yet I feel no crash unless I'm stuck in a lecture and post-prandial. I look forward to seeing how long this effect lasts.
Burst of Energy around 6pm.
N/A. I get off work at 6, of course I'm pumped!
Sleepiness around 9pm, but a "Second Energy Burst" around 11pm till 1am.
In the past I had this. With the schedule issues and my early bedtime its not been an issue.
Mild Depression, Decreased Sex Drive and Lack of Energy.
Has been a huge issue in the past, but lately I feel excellent, and I do attribute a lot of this to Reset. Stim usage is down, so I feel less artificially "up," and while my days are full and fastpaced I never feel "tired." Can't really comment on sex drive being up or down, but it certainly isn't down as it was in the past when I had similar (actually easier) schedules.
Muscular Weakness and declining endurance.
Diet is regimented as ever, isocaloric when accounting for activity, and gym routine is 5-6 days a week. Cardio included, sessions last ~55-65 minutes. Strength is actually a little up and bodyweight is down about 0.3lbs since starting residency. I'm lighter than I'd like to be, but all told I don't look or feel overly thin, tired, or depleted. I attribute some of this to Reset, specifically the fact that I'm doing it on minimal caffeine.
Weight gain, with extreme difficulty in losing it
Aside from those cutting for competition, I'd put my dietary regimen next to anyone. I don't cheat, I don't have time, so it is isocaloric and stagnant. No weight issues.
Unrelaxing or Unfulfilling Sleep
Melatonin doesn't work. ****** doesn't work. Sonata and Rozerem make me feel nauseated. Lunesta works. The fact that I can say this may indicate my sleep issues. I don't use hypotics often (MAYBE once every 2 weeks,) but in general my sleep is poor. Since beginning Reset, however, things seem to be turning around. I feel great on 5 hours, my energy doesn't die during the day, and I'm extremely efficient at work. This has been a BIG benefit of Reset AD to me and it actually seems to be getting BETTER as I break into bottle 2.
****Keep in mind that this is a prelim review after a mere month. I have a second bottle and am very much considering getting more to see how long the benefits last*****
After one month, I can definitely say that for me, Reset AD works, and it works VERY well. At about 50 cents a day I can say that this is one of the best deals in the industry and well worth the cost of admission. I will continue to review as I note more effects and if I obtain more will continue this review on a monthly basis noting increasing or decreasing efficacy.
Any questions, post 'em up.

Intro to month two: Violating my "usual" protocol of only using a product for one month at a time, month two was a continuation of all that you can read in month one above. I felt that this was a product that promoted and actually required continued/extended usage due to its mechanisms of action and theoretical ability to promote/maintain/and perhaps even enhance homeostatic mechanisms. The first half of bottle 2 coincided with the end of my inpatient gastro month while the second half has bridged me into a MUCH less malignant month of Endocrine outpatient and my own clinic (poor patients with me as a Primary Care Physician for 3 years.) Aside from the assinine amount of paperwork, my life is FAR less stressed this month and my workhours are closer to 50ish than the 80 of July. The gym is going better, diet is still pristine (need to bump cals, weight is kinda stupid low,) I've managed to get out to a few concerts (Interpol, Nickle Creek/Fiona Apple, Silversun Pickups) and some movies as well. I also adopted a cat from a guy we sent to Hospice for metastatic prostate cancer....a chatty purebred flamepoint Siamese that I renamed Miles (Miles Davis was a 'cool cat,' y'know?) It is ALMOST like I'm living a normal life. Anyhow, on with the review.
My current schedule is:
Awake at 4:00am.
Eat Meal One
Gym at 5:30ish-am.
Shower, drive to work by 7:00am.
Eat Meal Two at 8:00am
Meal Three at 12:00pm
Meal Four at 3:00pm
Done with work around 5:00pm
Meal Five when Home
Meal Six Before bed
Asleep by 10-10:30pm.
Reset AD taken with meal one and six. Other supplements consistent and irrelevant. Stims, usually pre-workout and again if neccessary around noon. Iced coffee has become a bit of a staple recently due to its freeness and the horrid weather/humidity.
The review.
Morning Fatigue. Not seeming to "wake up" until 10am even though you've been up for 3 hours.
This has never been a problem for me. I quite literally jump out of bed each morning and am running when my feet hit the ground. With continued use of Reset, I have noted that I feel subjectively "better" first thing in the morning, but I don't feel more awake. Aside from this "better" I mentioned, I also feel more cognitively intact. There is no fog, I go about my morning routine in perfect order with little wasted time. I've been told before that I'm a great "morning person" but this has become even more crystalized with continued use of the product.
Middle of the Afternoon "Low". Sluggishness and clouded thinking in the middle of the day.
I'm SURE some of this is related to schedule, but Reset continues to amaze in this regard. Over the past month, quite literally, I start seeing patients around 7:00 and don't lose steam at all. I'm less easily annoyed, less easily frustrated, and more willing to "take the extra step" to help out. My focus is good all day and I often find myself working "ahead" in terms of paperwork and forms for the week. I've always been a very efficient person, but this efficiency has become more consistent than ever recently.
Burst of Energy around 6pm.
As I said above. Wake till sleep, I'm pretty much "ON" lately, which is a great feeling.
Sleepiness around 9pm, but a "Second Energy Burst" around 11pm till 1am.
N/A, I'm in bed by 10 or 10:30 unless sports or conversation are particularly good.
Mild Depression, Decreased Sex Drive and Lack of Energy.
My mood has been a bit funky lately secondary to my mother having some health issues and me dealing with some personal relationship stressors, but all is resolved and well. Work keeps me busy and is very rewarding (when the patients actually show up.) Additionally, my drive in the gym is way up, and my energy throughout the day (as noted above) is as good as it has been in YEARS. I find myself more apt to socialize with friends and colleagues, and more willing to just "go with the flow" in situations that I may have been burdened by in the past.
Muscular Weakness and declining endurance.
Diet is regimented as ever, isocaloric when accounting for activity, and gym routine is 5-6 days a week. Cardio included, sessions last ~55-65 minutes. Strength is actually a little up and bodyweight is still trending down (about 1.3lbs since starting residency.) I'm lighter than I'd like to be, but all told I don't look or feel overly thin, tired, or depleted. I attribute some of this to Reset, specifically the fact that I'm doing it on minimal caffeine. I need to recalculate caloric goals in the coming days and reassess, I think my "normal activity" being up is where the weight loss is coming from, and I don't want to dip too much more.
Weight gain, with extreme difficulty in losing it
Aside from those cutting for competition, I'd put my dietary regimen next to anyone. I had an amazing cheat meal with my little sister last weekend and also went out with Twin Peak for sushi during the week, but otherwise I've obviously been hypocaloric with regard to activity.
Unrelaxing or Unfulfilling Sleep
Last time I noted this: "Melatonin doesn't work. This has been a BIG benefit of Reset AD to me and it actually seems to be getting BETTER as I break into bottle 2."
As bottle 2 ends, I can DEFINITELY say this has continued and actually gotten better. I know my sleep requirements, and Reset has allowed me to slightly violate those without "Feeling it" the next day. As noted, between the concerts, the stress with mom's health, and a new cat who seems to be quite nocturnal, my sleep has been less than usual, yet my performance has not suffered. Some of this may be due to the lightened workload at work, but I still put 100% into most of my days and don't feel any burnout.
****Keep in mind that this is a prelim review after 2 months. The people at PAL were gracious enough to send me 2 more bottles to continue this trial and I shall oblige*****
After two months, I can definitely say that for me, Reset AD works, and it works VERY well. Not only does it work well, but it gets BETTER with time At about 50 cents a day I can say that this is one of the best deals in the industry and well worth the cost of admission. I will continue to review as I note more effects.

Great review! I've been very interested in trying this product as well. As far as you know, the use of bovine adrenal tissue use in humans should be relatively safe correct?

If I was in a room and someone yelled "Hey Bitches!" I would never turn around because I just don't fit the description.

Thanks to all. I know we're not supposed to talk about other company's products (esp being that I'm actually a DS employee and not just a rep,) but I don't think PAL minds my praise.
So far their writeups are solid and Reset is great. I may have to look at their other offerings in the near future. My place in here at bb.com is as a fitness enthusiast and recommendations do not represent medical advice. Please consult your examining physician for all medical concerns.
