i got some whey protein from walmart and it has 20 grams of protein per serving and it has 30 servings all for $12. Would this stuff really help me build any muscle since it is protein, or would it not since it's so cheap?

My suggestion is this. Buy Optimum brand 100% whey. It has 26g of protein per serving, and 77 servings in a container. You can pick it up from GNC for about $26, and about the same from bb.com. It tastes great, and mixes great with milk or water. It is also a quality product. It uses whey isolates over whey concentrates, but still combines both.
Hit me back if you have any ???'s

Doesn't look horrendous. If it's this stuff or nothing then take this stuff. The other people in this thread are right though. There are much better proteins out there. I'm sure you know that as well. If this is the only thing you can afford, it's better than going without.

But yes, Its a quality product and whey isolates are the dominant source of protein.

Body Fortress is Whey protein and the label confusion is probably coming from the fact that they recently upgraded their formula and have both labels still on the shelf. I have taken it before and it will get you by as long as you're not taking a ton of it. When I tried to up my protein intake and supplement it with this stuff I got pains in my uppr GI. Went back to the ON Pro Complex and no more problems since. Like they said before -if that's all you can get, go with it, but compared to other higher quality brands it's not really much cheaper, so go with the quality. Good luck!

It might be OK, but that is $60 for 10 lbs. You can get a 10 lb. ON 100% Whey here at BB.com for $55.59. I am guessing the shipping charges for BB.com and taxes at your local Wal-Mart will wash, so you might save a little money and you get known good quality by shopping here in the future. I take the meal replacement type stuff consisting of either myoplex Deluxe or ON Pro Complex. The nice thing about this stuff is that they taste ok and they blend well.....a few shakes with water and your good to chug. They contain quality protien and provide many of the vitamines you need.....and which are probably absorbed much better this way too. I think protien supplementation may help a lot at this point.....particularly before and after workout..... maybe at night an hour before bedtime too. Some people eat a bit of fruit with it to increase enzimes....I like to combine a bit of whey with a small amount of another mixed protien blend because I think the protien works better that way... In example, I might combine a small or half scoup of the walmart brand with my regular portion of pure whey from optimum or ON.
Good Luck
