I've heard it called so many diff things its almost pointless in giving it a specific name. I've heard straight arm pull downs, forward lat pull, forward rotations, front pulls, vertical pull overs. If anybody has the specific name I would appreciate it as well.

thanks guys, straight arm pull downs. ok. In any event i worked them into my back routine as follows
Wide grip weighted Pull ups (+45) 3x8
CG weighted chin ups (+45) 3x8-10
Wide grip seated cable row 3x10
Straight arm pull downs 3x12
i really felt a pump in my lower and mid lats by the end of my workout.

I've never seen anyone do them at the gym. Just visualizing the movement I could see some guys who don't do much rear delt work feeling something back there and thinking it's doing a lot more than it probably is, but I couldn't see myself doing any less chins/pulls/rows to make way for it.
A little variation never hurts though so long as the main back exercises are still in there. You can fiddle around with the more obscure exercises for other muscle groups to find some extra detail but with back, unless you hit that sucker hard and heavy, it'll be like a drop in the ocean and you'll never notice it.
