Feeling unmotivated?
One thing that really helps me out when I'm feeling unmotivated is to write a letter to myself, and then post it in my room. I just wrote one last night, and let me tell you, it felt GREAT. I get quite harsh with myself, saying that I need to stop making excuses, stop skipping workouts, stop eating **** food... And then I went through all the reasons as to why I will benefit from working/eating clean.
I then went through the NEGATIVE side effects of skipping workouts/eating crap food.
It's posted in my room so that everytime I feel a lack of motivation, I will just read that letter and it will give me a swift kick in the butt.
If you're feeling REALLY crappy about yourself, and just SUPER unmotivated, that's the best time to write those letters. Be completely honest with yourself, and don't hold back.
Be as MEAN as you want to be, and make sure you write down how you're FEELING because you will not want to go back to that feeling (assuming you're writing this while feeling unmotivated).

Good idea. I get my motivation by reading some bb.com articles and wanting to go lift right away, even if I can't. I'd love to get down to the gym right now but my workout isn't untill later on in the day.

my motivation is coming on this forum and browsing through the threads where people are either in the progress of achieving great results or already have. im already ten pounds lighter than i was a few weeks ago, and even though i have a long road ahead of me, i want to be one of the many who have achieved their weight loss goal. this forum is helping me do it.

Ok, I'll give it a shot.
Dear bob.roher,
I know it's been a while since we've talked, but when I saw you last night, you looked great! All I could think was "Damn, that's one sexy man." I know that you said you wanted to just be friends and that you aren't into guys, but...
Hhmm, I don't think this is very motivational. Seems pretty self-indulgent and I think I made myself sick. Anyone else's letter take a turn for the worse?

You did it wrong
It's called cyberneticpsychosis or some such. And supposedly it works. I've been doing it "seriously" for about a month now, but I will give it more time to work.

Your search - cyberneticpsychosis - did not match any documents.
Suggestions:
- Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
- Try different keywords.
- Try more general keywords.
I'm going to try it myself.

Random crap that motivates me:
Like skelooth said chapter one BFFM=good sh*t…my goal sheet goes everywhere I go
Worst picture I have of myself posted on my refrigerator and bathroom mirror
Creating and maintaining a journal on here
Reading good advice and trying to help others
Watching my roommate eat total hell every day and seeing him grow like that blueberry girl in Charlie and the chocolate factory (30lbs in 4 months). The result of being a highly active crew team member and then turning into a couch potato. Every time I look at him my turkey and brown rice tastes amazing…ha
I guess the same goes for seeing what the people (besides the occasional hot Spanish girl) look like who eat McDonalds and Cinnabon and what have you. Most of them look like those Mr. Potato head toys, little stick arms with big lumbering round bodys…crazy
Might try that letter thing if I get in a funk…thanks for the suggestion

my best motivation is studying different workouts, i enjoy reading everyone's opinions on the net. gets me motivated to try new workouts and see how my body responds.
downloading music, usually download new mp3's... for some reason this works for me. i want to go to the gym and listen to my music.
always try to tell myself there is someone working harder than me and i love the feeling at the gym when you reach a new max on a lift or finish up a good run.
i figure the harder i train the easier things in my life are going to get.
