guys you're saying 100 pounds of muscle in 6 months is imposssible.

well think about it. Estimate the bodyfat in first pic, and then again in the 2nd? I'm suprised anyone is even suggesting it was all muscle.

A GOOD chunk of that was fat to bring him up to a healthy %.

if you watch batman's special features he says how he bulked up for the movie but he was too big. He had to cut down to fit in the batman suit plus he worked out everyday thats all he did or the entire 6 months still amazing though.

He's also my favourite actor best movie with him is "Empire of the Sun"

I read about this a while back and saw some interviews with him.

He said to do the batman role he had to put on 100lbs in 6 months but he was really unfit. He claimed if he had to run 15metres he would be totally out of breath.

Good portion of gains from muscle memory and also a lot of fat gain. He also said after his 6 month deadline he couldn't even do one pushup. Then after the 6months deadline he then started work on building muscle again.

Because no one needs steroids to hit 180 pounds or so. Did you see what he came from? He was emaciated. Your body is going to INHALE everything you put into at that point.

Hmm I wouldn't put my money on him being that out of shape, since acting in an action movie, such as batman begins can never be easy. I'm pretty sure he had a few scenes demanding a lot of effort (the dojo scene comes to mind, so do the final battles when Gotham is being attacked, and of course, probably my favorite scene of the entire film, when Liam Nielson is hanging from a cliff and Bale literally bicep curls him up to safety).

First of all the article has got most of its facts wrong.

For example that Matt Damon stuff is BS. He was THAT thin in 96, and then slowly started putting on muscle mass to become the person on the left in the Bourne series.

Maybe its not 100lbs, for Bale - though still unbelievable transformation.

well, lets remembe that he got PAYED more for doing Batman then our dear Olympia winners get payed for winning the best bodybuilding show in the world. Motivation+Not having to do anything else then work out, eat, and sleep=pretty darn nice gains.

Pretty simple..its his job to to that...everyone here has jobs, school..etc so we mess up sometimes due to stress or such things that I dont feel like naming right now..As for him and other stars..thats ALL they have to do + they have the help of professionals and anything is available to them.

why someone would find it surprising that he would use steroids i dont know. he is so dedicated that he would loose weight to an extreamly unhealthy point and eat basically nothing each day, and you think he wouldnt use steroids? im not saying he did im not saying he didnt, but i think he did. same goes for stalone for rocky balboa.... did you see him?

he gained that fast because he was ALREADY UNDER his current bodyweight, so when he went to start eating again, his body gained alot easier, since he was already at that bodyweight before, then gained some more weight on top of that.

You gotta remember, at the start of the bulk, he was cut down to roughly <120lbs, he was like...etheopian.
