    holy ****, this guy?s committed to the point of insanity. a clear winner.

    in 2004 (apparently in only a few months) he lost a whopping 63lbs/4.5 stone for his role as an insomniac in the machinist. his co-stars have since claimed that he was even eager to lose more weight during filming and had to be stopped by the director.

    as if that wasn?t enough he then immediately had to stuff his face in order to play Batman. he gained, in the space of 6 months, a ridiculous 100lbs/7 stone! how in ****?s name do you do that? over a stone a month?! must?ve been tricky finding time to get down the gym in between shoving chicken down his gullet and sitting on the toilet.



    And I want to know how?!!? Anyone know of the possible routine/diet...ect...? Have you seen it anywhere? I realize he had 6 months of absolute pure dedication (no work, school...ect... just gaining) but that is truly unreal. I find it doubtful that he would have used steroids but even with them those gains are amazing.

    Yeah, I wouldn't doubt that some actors are enhanced. Noob gains!

    You also have to remember these actors are probably more dedicated to mass gain and a proper diet than 99% of this forum- including the competitive teen bodybuilders. That would literally be his work for 6 months and his trainer would make sure it happened- and effectively.

    judging from those 2pics the obvious answer is roids althought i dont know if those are the correct b4 and after pics, but he went from a skinny guy with no muscle to having alot of muscle 100lbs in weight all together in 6months, if u calculate that it is 16.6lbs a month meaning if he gained what 12lbs of raw muscle more or less in 6months naturalyl that extra 88lbs is fat and water hence he wouldnt look like how he does in that 2nd picture he would look more like a powerlifter or something where u see more fat and water for there appearance of being big

    All i do is sit at a desk and walk around my campus, train my ass off, get 8-9 hours of sleep a night, and work my ass of in the weight room and im only getting 75% lean gains per week and i'm a newb. I have the genetics for this **** my dad was powerlifter. As much as i think Bale is beastly(hes my favorite actor too, see 310 to Yuma, it rocks) he had to have done roids. Granted, he was around 12-15% bodyfat for his role as bruce wayne, and if you notice he isnt as built when hes in a suit, so this tells me he put on a great deal of fat and probably wasn't at the proper weight throughout shooting.

    Yeah, he probably was 100% more strict with diet and rest and training than you are despite you being pretty dedicated. Also, read the thing- he lost 60lbs for a movie and was sickly skinny.

    Just because your dad was a powerlifter doesn't mean you have good powerlifting genetics. The traits you pass on are not acquired during lifetime and you could have your grandparents, mothers, etc. genetics.

    If my dad was a professional baseball player, it doesn't mean my genetics are good for baseball necessarly.

    Yeah but dude i have the same frame and **** too. Same metabolism (not quite as fast), but yeah i'd account like 1 lb a week to muscle memory, he isnt scary lean so i can understand even 2 lbs a week, maybe more, but lets be realistic.

    wow i just read another article where for 4 months bale would only eat an apple and a bag of chips a day ....and ended up being 6 ft 120 lbs for his role in the machinist .... it says that bale wanted to drop to 100 lbs but his director and his doctor forbade it ....then 2 months later the producers of batman told bale he had 6 months to bulk up for his role in batman and he hired a personal trainer and gained 100 lbs which brought him to 6 ft 220 ...he said gaining the first 60 to get to 180 lbs was easy cause that was his reg weight before his starvation but the next 40 was tough ... guy is dedicated to acting
