Need opionions on Yogurt
New to the site and would love anyone and everyone's opinion on whether yogurt is a good source of nutrition or not...
The specifics:
Dannon All-Natural Vanilla
Ingredients: cultured grade a reduced fat milk, sugar, natural vanilla flavor, pectin
Nutritional Facts: 1 container
calories 150, fat cal 25, total fat 2.5g, sat fat 1.5g, chol 10mg, sodium 105mg, total carb 25g, sugars 25g, protein 7g
Just starting back on the road to healthy lifestyle & fitness, I eat this yogurt with whey protein powder as a snack, good idea?
Thanks for any input

Yogurt is great, the only downside may be the sugar content. If you do just one serving a day thats probably all right. Or you could buy the plain yogurt with no added sugar and add fresh fruit to it and a packet of splenda if you enjoy the sweetness.

Plain yogurt is well and good but if you can find it, get greek style plain yogurt (trader joe's has their own brand, you can also find ***e in some stores like whole foods and TJ's).
Trader Joe's greek style nonfat plain yogurt - Ingredients: Grade a pasteurized skim milk, live and active cultures: S.Therpophilus, L.Bulgaricus, L.Acidophilus, Bifidus. Cultured after pasteurization.
Nutritional Facts: 1 cup
calories 100, fat cal 0, total fat 0g, cholest. 0mg, sodium 70mg, total carb. 5g protein 20g
with this stuff there is no need to add whey, since it's plain I normally add in some fruit, a packet of crystal light (lemon is very good) or vanilla flavoring and splenda. even if you can't get the greek style I'd go for the plain, low fat and add my own fruit/sweeteners to it.

it's killer man, taste great with fruit or spenda/crystal light and I just couldn't believe it was that high protein/low carb. its also good in sakes (about 1/2 milk, 1/2 yogurt, fruit and a scoop of whey) makes a nice creamy shake/smoothie

x2 agreed
yogurt is loaded in sugars if you can try and opt for milk or cottage cheese as an alternative casein/whey source.. but its not too bad.. you can find other kinds of yogurt a lot lower in sugar such as about 10-11g or so..
its a good pro source because of the casein/whey mixture making it great pre-bed paired withs ome PB or almonds etc etc
also a good snack on the go paired withs ome fruit and maybe a sandwich
other then that keep it in moderation and opt for other good soruces of protein
chicken / tuna / gruodn beef etccc milk cottage cheese
