nobody can know for sure how many mg.'s will kill someone because everyone is different. even if someone did overdose on it...there is no guarantee that it will kill you. might get really bad side-effects and end up in the hospital. but only someone really ignorant and/or stupid would do that...keep it at 100mg. DAILY or less and no more than 25mg. per dose (taking more per dose doesn't mean more fat burning..so tell you friend not to think about it

Your looking for an LD50, unfortunetly i do not know it. I can say this though, when i first used ephedra few years back, the effect was much stronger than it is now. 25mgs then would give me the same as about 75mg now (this doesn't mean i always take 75mg) . Which just goes to say everyone is different and some people have adapted to its effects more than others. Its safe as long as your healthy do not abuse it. If you do then like any drug, its hazzardous.

400mg/kg, that is much higher than I thought, even if it was 1/10th of that for humans that would still be grams for most. Point is I don't think you can kill yourself with ephedrine, not without taking handfuls of pills.

    Keep in mind...

LD50 is what it takes on average to completely kill every second person who takes that much of a chemical. There are a whole host of nasty and potentially permanent things that can happen well before you actually die (coma, brain damage, heart damage, etc).

That said, the LD50 is higher than I would have expected, too.

In this case, the LD50 is not the truth in full, regardng potential side-effects (that is, heart attack, death, and stroke). Of course it is relevant, but, not with regards to the potential circumstance of death (since no one ever died of Ephedrine poisoning, although one can die from Ephedrine induced complications).

I recall some time ago, in Muscle Mag, in which case Greg Zulak answered a question "Is Ephedra deadly" by stating the LD50, concluding (I paraphrase) 'folks, this is 1000 times the amount of normal consumption'.

Specious manner in which to answer a question. In this case, side effects/potential complications associated with Ephedrine will not be measured by the LD50. On a person to person basis, tolerance differs, as does their physical circumstance (given health, known conditions, latent complications).

Harimwakairi's statement ("....things that can happen well before you actually die ...") destroys Zulak's farcical reasoning. Ephedrine will not poison anyone (considering the LD50), although it can be a catalyst to destruction.
