    Would this be too much????

I have been drinking one gallon of water per day. But I want to up it to 2 gallons a day. But aside from water, I drink about 4 cups of Milk in shakes and an additional 6 cups of Water in shakes, so would that be too much?

No. There really is such a thing as too much water. You can literally drown your body if you take in too much liquids.

Thats true. You're right. its called Hyponatremia or something like that. where the water draws sodium outside the cell or something like that. but then agian, proper sodium intake will prevent this aswell

and if you take in too much sodium to counter the effects of drinking that much water, thats still bad for you. too much water and/or sodium is bad for you.

Sorry i forgot to mention you also need the electrolytes. :-\

bleh anywho. think of it this way: dont be drinking gallons of water just to meet some kind of qutoia. drink as necessary and in accordance to your exercise level.

if you like salt licks... you dont need hundreds of miligrams of sodium to conteract so much water..

also if you consume WAY TOO much sodium, nothing you could really eat, unless of course you like salt licks.. you will drown yourself.

thats why we like a balance of all

There is no purpose in drinking that much water. You can get a lot of the water you need from your food, and you really don't need that much water. It will put your electrolyte and sodium balances out of whack, and there is no positive to it.
A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man.

"Out of damp and gloomy days, out of solitude, out of loveless words directed at us, conclusions grow up in us like fungus: one morning they are there, we know not how, and they gaze upon us, morose and gray. Woe to the thinker who is not the gardener but only the soil of the plants that grow in him."

So would 1 gallon plus all the shakes be enough or not?

Well, are you feeling thirsty at any point during the day with your current water intake?

The best advice was to just drink as much as you need to match your current level of activity, not try to meet some high quota. I think 1 gallon a day (plus in shakes/food/etc.) is fine.

Well I drank an entire gallon this morning during my workout b/c I was sweating like a f'n pig. I'll try to finish the second one throughout the day only drinking it when I'm thirsty.
