Is this as good as they say it is? It only goes 4mph max, but they say it burns twice as much as when youre on the treadmill...that would mean I can burn nearly 1300 in forty minutes

Without having actually tried it I would say it looks equal in value to a treadmill at best. The comparisons on the website are marketing BS. They compared their machine to walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes at 3.0mph. They are comparing an easy exercise to a more intense one. Crank up the incline to 15% and you you get the same amount of calories burned. You don't get something for nothing.
Some people have a way with words. Other people not have way.

Sweating like a madman doesn't make it better than other products. I hate hearing stuff like that. It's like "getting pushed down a hill made me sweat like a madman, best exercise ever".
The point really is: what on earth would make this a better exercise than an inclined treadmill? It's like using an incline, except it wusses out and lowers as you put force on it so you're not even lifting your entire weight.
The only value could be therapeutic, like how they advertise it being similar to elliptic. I don't know about that, but it is different, and might benefit some people.
That 'equivilent to a stairclimber' is total BS. It isn't. StairClimbers are harder, you lift your entire weight, the platform doesn't lower to make it seem like you lifted yourself up. If it lowers at all, it means you're only doing about half the work at most.
