I think if you ask someone out on a date (not just like hey wanna go haang - a restaurant/movie whatevs) then you pay, or at least expect to (this goes for guys and girls)

Once you get into more 'year' territory I think it's whatever works for both of you - for instance, I'm still at uni and my boyfriend works fulltime, so often he ends up paying for things. However, I'll still buy him lunch/dinner etc when I can afford it - or else we'll just go dutch.

I've never been a fan of all the 'oh the guy should pay for everything' crap - it's a bit silly.

i think it should be split the bill, but a lot of people think that if you ask her out you should pay, then she pays next time.. or if she asks you out she pays.. etc. i dunno though

Usually I test the girls. If they let me pay three times in a row, I decide not to date her anymore since she has no class in my opinion.

Obviously you were brought up with parents that still think it's the 1950s. Today women are more liberal and independent and don't mind paying for their half. It has nothing to do with being cheap. Obviously some guys are blatantly cheap on purpose but others just think the girl should help out of courtesy. When I first courted my gf I payed for the meal but she offered to pay the drinks later on at the bar. You see she is a good woman that is not looking to be pampered like a spoiled princess that many parents do to their daughters. This crap makes girls look like gold diggers. We still take turns paying cause it allows us to do more as a couple when we go out.

i take turns with my man when we go out. eample, i'll pay for dinner then he'll get the movie, etc. the times when one of us foots the entire date is when someone has surprises planned (ex, he had an amazing night planned for us in NYC and he paid for everything because he planned it out).
