Help with Carb Cycling
ok, i have a confession. i do NOT do well with instructions that are longer than 1-2 paragraphs. on chicana peach?s suggestion to bust thru a plateau, i started carb cycling last week. i did a little research and thought it sounded like a good option for me. i?ve been on a low carb diet since june and it?s driving me loca?.making me crave things i don?t even normally like to eat. i?m sure it?s just a mental thing, but a mind is a terrible thing to waste, especially when you eat some crap you think you?re craving shortly afterwards.
at any rate, on to the carb cycling instructions (here on bb.com - it?s a 2 part series). is it just me or do they read like stereo instructions. the only thing i think i have right is the no carb day (of course, the easy one). the others are really iffy. my questions are:
1-can i use muscle milk protein shakes or do i need to find a whey/non-casean (sp?) shake?
2-ummmm, does anyone have a sample meal day (a week would be better) that he or she could share
3 - can i have sweet potatoes on a low carb day?
here?s my sample days for each (high, low, no)?tell me if i?m on the right track (thanks in advance):
high:
m1 - potatoes & egg whites
m2 - oatmeal & apple slices
m3 - boiled egg
m4 - cottage cheese, tomatoes & popcorn
m5 - tuna & spinach
m6 - shrimp, pasta & tomatoes, & apple slices
low:
m1 - scrambled egg
m2 - protein shake
m3 - tuna in low carb pita & apple
m4 - whole milk cottage cheese & tomatoes, apple
m5 - protein shake w/strawberries
m6 - shrimp & zucchini spaghetti
no:
m1 - boiled egg
m2 - protein shake
m3 - whole milk cottage cheese
m4 - protein shake
m5 - egg whites
m6 - bison & spinach
from my understanding of the article, i have to consume a minimum of 175 (my current weight) grams of protein and a maximum of 252. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. besitos? ciao!
