Question optimum pro complex PM or met-rx apm 60?

i was looking around for a protein that i could take before i go to bed, i know cottage cheese is good but i don't really like the taste, and milk is good too but i'm cutting and i don't want the carbs. has anybody tried either the optimum pro complex pm or met-rx apm 60? i'm a fan of vanilla flavors. how do these taste? thanks.

edit: both of these use milk protein or calcium caseinate, which is why i thought they would be good for before bed.

ive been using the apm 60 chocolate flavor, I used to wake up hungry in the middle of the night and now i dont, its really thick so if you like thick shakes with low carbs go with it.

i have insider information that prolabs new mrp for the p.m is freaking amazing. I hear it tastes bomb diggity, and the ingredients are superb. Micellean is better than the above mentioned imo.

I like MaxMuscle's High 5 for a pm shake. 52 gms protein, and 2 carbs. Pro Complex is good, but I don't like all the added vitamins, as I take a ton separately.

I just finished 2.2lbs of Optimum's Pro Complex, Vanilla Flavored, and loved it. Sometimes for extra carbs in the form of sugars I mix it with skim milk and a handful of fresh blueberries. If you need suggestions on MRP you should try Optimum's Opti-Pro meal, Double Rich Chocolate. I am not sure if they make this in vanilla. Hope this helps.

Pro Complex PM only has 25 g of protein in it, which is a very small amount, so I wouldn't recommend it.

The Optimum Pro Complex PM has ZMA and calcium in it. Doesnt make sense if they cancel each other out. I take 2 scoops of MuscleMilk at night.

Sorry RippedUp but unlike other newbies I actually read alot of other ZMA posts before I replied to this one. There are a substantial number of opinions that suggest separating calcium intake and ZMA by at least 30 minutes if not more. Some ZMA labels even advise the same.

It is a fair question as to why the Almighty Optimum would put out a product with calcium and ZMA in it.

The simple fact that they have a liquid creatine product in their range should answer your question.

    Unhappy

I have just finished a pack of Pro Complex PM. Tastes great, but only has 25 grams of protein. Kind of expensive, too. I was a little disappointed, too, when I saw that they included ZMA in there with other calcium products.

I like Max Muscle's Max Pro. Costs less than Pro Complex and MetRx too.

And while I agree that IsoPure is a good protein, I wouldn't use it as my pm source.

    Thumbs up

I had great results with AMP 60. I tried the vanilla, and it tasted pretty good. It made a very thick shake even with 8-10 oz of water. However, it filled me up for the night, and I recovered mych quicker.
