Hey all,
I've started eating 100g of cashew nuts a day. They are roasted salted nuts, and have the following nutiritional benefits:
Per 100g:
Calories: 655
Protein:30
Fat: 51
Carbs: 19
It's good to have such a huge amount of calories as it helps bulk up my diet a bit, also the protein amount is great too.
Any thoughts?

Does that look about right? I'm aiming to put on muscle and size, but also become generally fitter (for running and cardiovascular too), and stronger.
Not really sure of what I specifically wanted to know, but just wondered if it was OK to eat that many nuts. 655 is a lot of calories to get from one food source, just wasn't sure if that was bad.GOALS for 2009:

eh i dont think u need the 300g of protein.. i would bump that down and get around i would say 275max and keep the carbs around 300 and fats about 90-95.. looks good but a lil too much protein maybe..
not bad man.. record ur results for the week and check the scale and let us know how things are going

Eat walnuts if you can stand them. Loads of Omega-3's. 100g of walnuts would be around the same amount of calories and such, but would offer like 8 grams (not mg) of Omega-3s. Walnuts are my fav source of O3.
When life hands you a lemon, don't be a wuss and make lemonade, squeeze the juice into a squirt gun and aim for open wounds. Everybody loves that.

Thanks.
I've been thinking about the protein. I thought I heard it was 1-2g of protein per lb of body weight. Seeing as I weight roughly 170-180lbs, then it would be about right having 200 - that would obviously the top of the scale. As I said I don't normally have that amount every day.
As for how the diet has been going, not too bad. I'm 3 days into it, it's always been a hard thing for me to stick too. I don't really eat too much junk, only chocolate a couple of times a week, and maybe beer every few weeks, but nothing major.
I've been lifting on and off for ages, but never really stuck hugely to it. I have a 3 day split happening.

Thanks everyone.
Oh, and as for walnuts - I don't mind them, I'll check them out. I need to get a few more eggs in my diet, so will have a few boiled ones over the next few days. See how it goes.GOALS for 2009:
