Some people claim to have done it, though it's really difficult. Understanding the role of insulin is important to understanding why it's so hard.

The first rule of cheat club is you do not talk about cheat club. The second rule of cheat club is you DO NOT talk about cheat club. Third rule of cheat cub, someone yells stop!, goes limp, taps out, the cheat is over. Fourth rule, one cheat at a time, fellas. Fifth rule, cheats will go on as long as they have to. And the sixth and final rule, if this is your first night at cheat club, you have to cheat.

Because you cut fat mainly by reducing calories. When you reduce calories you significantly reduce the ability to synthesize new muscle size.

It's possible to gain muscle and lose fat, but it's nothing on the scale of a full fledged bulking gain, which is what most people think of when they hear "gain muscle".

its very very difficult to do both at the same time, but it is possible to gain muscle and decrease your bf%. Just keep it clean and you'll gain lean muscle while keeping the fat gain to a minimum. If your gaining more muscle that fat, then then the ratio of your lean muscle mass to fat mass will increase. This can result in a slightly lower bf% if you're doin it right.
