[QUOTE=Lion Heart]^ Numbers wise....they both did. Neither one was a big draw while on top.
QUOTE]
But you can't necessarily place all the blame on Bret Hart for the lackluster crowds while he was champ. Look at the bookings, he had defenses against such awesome wrestlers as Doink the Clown, Isaak Yankem, etc . . .And as Bret stated, every good guy needs a good bad guy to be a draw. When Bret was having matches and defenses with Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels, those were huge draws. Bret made the most with what he had.

If you refer to a fighter who you've never met in real life as "my boy" as though their performance somehow reflects well on you for simply being a fan, you're a lame ass.

Trips is about to get the strap back anyway....where it belongs! No way they are going to let Batista beat the Game 3 times in a row, hell in a cell is Trips speciality!

I think Batista as champion is fine. What people have to realise is that he is suffering from abysmal booking. He never wrestles? - why? because he comes in the ring for 5 mins beats everyone up and then leaves. He gets no time to do promo's, or wrestle. Hell he's wrestled about 4 times since his champion, hes been champion since April 3rd that's 7 weeks. The other 3 weeks he wasn't wrestling he hasn't exactly delievered vast amounts of promo's. Instead what we are treated to is like what happened 3 weeks ago a 15 MINUTE HHH PROMO. What is going on here? He isn't even the champ and he's taking most of the screen time. It should be Batista on the mic majority of the time - not HHH.
People say his in ring ability isn't good. Well how is it going to improve by giving the belt to HHH. That is simply isolating the problem not curing it. He needs matches, he needs screen time and he needs people like Benoit and Jericho who can help him with in ring ability. He doesn't just have to feud with HHH. Fine Edge is in the picture but theres Jericho, Benoit even Micheales. Jericho with him turning heel would be perfect then it could be a triple threat match for the belt or whatever. (HHH VS Jericho VS Batista)
I just think people are not giving him enough time and this highlights why I am not a fan of HHH. He isn't even champ, has excellent mic skills, yet he gets more promo and air time that Batista, it's just ridicolous.Kurt Angle is my #1 Wrestler.

It doesn't matter how you draw internationally, what matters is how you do here in the u.s. (if you are an american based company).
You can say Bret was on top during a time when wrestling wasn't big (though the exception can be made for 1997) but again, whether it's right or wrong, the weight of the company and whether it does good or bad, always falls on who is on top as your shows, ppvs, etc are sold on them.
As for Christian being better than the rock etc on the mic that is laughable. I am a big Christian fan but the rock is light years ahead of him on the mic.
And if time in the company is reason why a person should be given the title, then there are others with more seniority in the wwe that should get it before christian.

People keep complaining that HHH gets to cut 15 min promos while Batista hardly wrestles. Reason? He is married to Steph.
Bret didn't draw while champ? I donno about that but let's name someone worse...Nash.
Why does Batista get this push? because he is big and Vince has a hard on for big guys. (See above with Nash as champ)
Maybe I read wrong but that person never said Christian was better than the Rock. BTW the Rock is not only not in WWE, he isn't even under contract by them.
Christian wont get a push because VINCE doesn't think he is big enough (back to him loving big men) not because the FANS don't think so. The fans love him now. Just like they loved RVD but that never went far (unfortanatly)
Jericho was more than a trasition champ and he HAs had a long title run. Remember him beating both the Rock and Austin at the same PPV to become the 1st undisputed champ? (I beleave he used a double powerbomb agianst the Rock here)
I don't know about them trying to make Batista the new Rock but I see them trying (or at least they were) to make Orton the new Rock.
Hmmm. Flair stood and did all the talking while Batista stood there? That NEVER happens. (See Heymen and Lesner most recently). Take a big guy who can't cut a promo to save his life and team him up with someone who can. Also, he has 5 moves and beats everyone in 2 mins? Remind you of anyone? *cough*Goldburg*cough*
Lastly...because he hardly ever defends the belt it doesn't mean much? Hell most of the belts hardly mean anything now. Oh sure lately they have let guys hold on to them for longer (Orton with the IC and Trips with the World) but for the most part...though Bitch-Off was more guilty of using title belts as a prop than anyone else.Good, better, best, never let it rest. Till your good be better, and your better best!

When Trips was champ, he wrestled a lot, just not title shots. Like tag team with fellow Evolution(ex) members, etc...
You want someone who hardly wrestle during his reign? JBL! On his last couple of months, he did tag with Angle and OJ, but before... nada.
And as a BIG Trips fan, I agree that his skills is limited, but it is still fun to watch, just like the Rock or Austin, thats the difference with others who got no skills AND not fun to watch.
