For other dietary reason, I cannot have chocolate (white chocolate is ok, just no cocoa) or nuts (nut butter included). It seems that all of the protein bars available out there seem to have one or both of these ingredients. Does anyone know of one that does not?
Also, I know that there is a thread for protein bar recipes, but it is horribly long and a PITA to read. I have tried a couple of the recipes found within but neither has turned out very well. I would be willing to try making my own again if someone can provide me with a recipe that is tasty and will actually stay in bar form.
Thanks!

Thanks Khanflict, those come really close... Unfortunately they contain another ingredient, yogurt, that I am having to cut from my diet.
I have to admit that when I first started eliminating these foods from my diet, I thought that nuts and yogurt would be the hardest ones to avoid for me. In reality, they just turned out to be the ones I miss the most.

Darn... I really love those too but unfortunately, they have either Sodium Nitrite, Sodium Nitrate, or MSG none of which I can have.
I like the thought though, perhaps there is someone who sells an all natural jerky, without those ingredients? I also know you can buy a food dehydrator and make your own jerky. Does anyone have any positive experiences with this?Last edited by goghua; 10-01-2007 at 02:30 PM.
