I personally do cardio all the time since it's great for cardiovascular health and there's really no fear of cutting up too much(even in the bulking phase).
Of course if you do more than 30min(and more than 3 times a week) it's a different story...
Interval training can increase your metabolism and endurance better than the ''classic'' 30 min treadmill jog HOWEVER it's really too much for your legs if you do hard weight training 3-4 times a week for example. It's just too much unless you're a professional athlete, that's my opinion.
Most bodybuilders I know do cardio 2-3 times a week on a SLOW pace which, after a while, really doesn't do anything other than simply keep your heart and lungs active...
If you just want to keep healthy(cardio wise) 3 times a week on a moderate pace-5min jog then 20min on a faster pace and then another 5 cooldown jog-is enough(provided you gradually increase the pace on the middle 20min phase)
That works great if you want to be active and healthy but if you want bulk you should keep it 2-3 times a week on a slow-moderate pace(losing the benefits of the gradual speed increase in that 20 min phase)
If you eat right and big then you won't lose your bulk but you'll reach a plateau in your cardiovascular ability(your body will quickly get used to running the same time on the same pace).

Your heart gets bigger the more you exercise as it does have to pump more blood and nutrients around the body but as the heart gets bigger it is also means a slower heart rate as it becomes more powerfull which is a good thing as it puts less stress on your heart people who only do cardio will also have a big heart if not bigger dont worry its a healthy thing

If you're on a bulk and only eating clean foods like brown rice, yams, oatmeal, chicken, beef, fish, etc. I don't see the need for the cardio during a bulk other than just staying in cardiovascular shape? Would it help to gain mass faster with or without the cardio is my question. Im not a pro here but if you're eating standard foods and maintaining a specific caloric intake what is the benefit to cardio? speeding up the metab?
