    How much weight should one increase per week

    Lets say for a guy like me weak i do 50 bench press when week in a pyramid routine

    the next week should i try for 52.5 or what?

    Well like with me...I've been making steady gains...about 5 pounds a week added on. For you, I'd add another 5 pounds on if you could, just make sure that you do use a spotter for sure. 2.5 would be good as well...but at my school the smallest plates we have are 2.5, and you can't just put one on one side and one not on the other. So go for it man, good luck!

    if you're just starting off, then yeah. I remember when I started working out back in like 7th grade I would add 2.5 lbs. to bench every week for like the first month or 2 months. After that it kindda levels off, and your gains come much steadier.

    I'm in no rush so I'm adding 5lbs every 2 weeks. Gives my muscles more time to grow i reckon... When you start, 5lbs per week is pretty good.
