    Yes, it is the grip strength and the muscle memory. I would even go as far as saying it has very little to do with their training and more do do with swinging a bat a thousand times a month since they were five.

    Ya I noticed that, When I used to play baseball when I was younger I would really squeeze and grip the bat hard adjusting it before every swing and my forearms wound up sore the next day. especially the top part and the inside.

    I dont know the answer, but all I know is that having forearms like some of them ball players would be badass. All I do on my biceps day is wrist curls and I put some weights on a rope and hooked it to a barbell and I twist the barbell till the weights are at the top.

    Ted williams was skinny and so Amazing at bat lol, Technique has more to do with it then anything, not saying core and legs dont matter. But in the beggining of the video they talked about williams working on his Grip strength.

    if you wanted to use an example of core and lowerbody show someone with big thighs and glutes hitting lol not some skinny ted williams it doesnt really fit your argument because Williams was All technique!

    Yes, but the technique he is using is referred to today by most as pure rotational hitting. The emphasis of pure roational hitting is on the lower body generating power to whip the bat around. Are the forearms still important? Yes. And can I show you the swing of a player with big glutes and legs hitting? Probably not, because all/most pro's have pretty big forearms too, so it doesn't work too well to prove a point. And also I can't say that a baseball player should not train grip, because it is still important, and they should. However, grip is not as important as leg/core strength for a hitter. I thought that using Ted Williams would prove that because he weighed no more than 175 but he is still one of the greatest home run hitters and pure hitters of all time. This can be attributed to his perfect mechanics, but those mechanics revolve around using the legs/core to generate power.

    Ok, I'll ask the hitting coach at the school I am doing an official visit for this weekend which is more important in hitting, forearms or core strength.
