    Difference between Powerlifting and Bodybuilding???

    What is the difference? and also, im not 100% sure what they actually mean. I just lift everything in our gym in 3 sets of 10 everyday and im curious about what these two things are. thxs

    Powerlifters train for getting higher numbers and weight in gym lifts and explosiveness. Bodybuilders just traing for size, and try to get as much mass with as little bf as possible.

    Powerlifting is where you train in a manner that allows you to be your best at a one rep maximum lift. Bodybuilding is just that...body building. You'll gain muscle with powerlifting yes but the two training styles are different and place different kinds of stress on the body so the body reacts in different ways to the types of training.

    Basically:
    -Powerlifting - Working out for streght
    -Bodybuilding- Working out for size

    3 sets of 10 reps "is bodybuilding" - hypertrophy occurs in this rep range, though you should try another rep range.

    isolating reps and sets for bb is silly, imo. any sets/reps can work.
