Do you go in and lift for a max(4-8 reps total) or do you say your max is whatever your heaviest lift is during a workout(30-50 reps)? I say my maxes are when I do a full workout, then do 1 rep. But others at my school will go lift just to warmup, then put alot on. So, my question is, since I bench 230 by the end of my sets, I should be able to do more w/out all the reps, but how much more?

you could definately be able to do more, because your muscles wont be fatigued. Theres no way to tell exactly its just trial and error. Dont't put too much on the cuz u mite hurt urself, just increase gradually. There are some one max rep calculators on the web but i dont no how accurate those are, they help you get a ballpark number tho
