I'm not surprised though, China treats its citizens and the environment as a whole like ****, I wouldn't expect any more for the animals there. As far as the torture=taste thing, I just don't get it, when an animal struggles a lot before it dies it releases all kinds of toxins into the flesh that makes the meat taste like crap. (yes hunter)

You have to question a culture that allows and embraces this. I know animal sacrifice is practiced in other cultures, but the animal is respected to the end. For example, in Islam the animal sacrificed should be healthy, fed and treated well. The knife should be sharpened to quicken the whole thing. In Islam if you beat/torture an animal you're basically condemned to hell!

i also heard that (a little of topic here) shooting an animal with a bullet causes the animal to taste bad, something to do with the bullet lodging in them that ****s up the meat, whereas killing with a bow +arrow doesnt, any truth to that??(wanna be future hunter)

um...yes and no, like you want to shoot certain areas to get an instant kill, like on deer you aim at the base of the neck or directly behind the front shoulder, b/c if the bullet hits the shoulder directly it won't be good. If you hit them in those areas though the bullet won't hit any of the good meat unless it ricochets off a bone or something.

edit: and like if you shoot doves or turkey you just have to pick the pellets out before you cook it b/c a lot of the lead in there will mess the meat up.

Not exactly. I strongly recommend you watch Earthlings (guy posted it above). It's a great film, though a bit disturbing. Really opens your eyes to what happens inside a slaughterhouse.

i read that book fast food nation, and that guy, anti fast food and all(eric schlosser) tried to paint a very bad picture of the slaughter houses here in the usa......but it didnt look all that bad, first the cows are lined up to enter the slaighter house....they walk up to some guy with a gun that shoots a bolt into the cows face, which knocks it out cold, then the cow goes on to be killed, seperated, skinned....never sees any of it though, because it gets knocked uncounscious
