So I was doing a few cheat curls today
and the personal trainer comes over and tells me that my form is bad and I'm going to slip a disc. So I told him I was just cheating the last few reps and it was intentional. And so he said the same thing again. At which point I felt like killing him. Should I have done so or would that be over-reacting?

Its just like the guy who was half my size and told me I should use the Machines for bench because then I dont have to use proper form.
I could have slapped him.
just tell him " Go away, Im a paying member and your bothering me"
Hell get the idea.

what is the point of 'cheat curls'. why don't you just use a bit lighter weight with proper form..surely that would be better?

There is a guy at my gym that uses the Ez bar and puts two 45's on each side. He throws the weight all over the place and "curls" it for maybe 6 reps. See now thats the time when you should step in and say, hey pal your just going to **** yourself up but when its intentional. Thats a different story.

Haha one time this skinny ass trainer was giving me this ****ing gay smirk that would piss anyone off because i said to one of my friends I had a baconator before I came cause I had to try it.
It was like a look of "haha you idiot you have no idea what youre doing in the gym.." and the guy was like 6'0 140 and a trainer...

And why do all personal trainers have such $hit physiques, yet claim to know everything? You can't even do good mornings without a lecture about how you're "going to slip a disc, etc. yadda yaddda..."

I did 5-6 reps with strict form, then I cheated a couple more. That was it. It really wasn't that crazy...

Well, before I jump to agree with you I'd have to understand your defintion of "cheat curls." I've seen some horrendous curling in my day.
To me, a cheat curl would be bowing out your elbows with a slight backward lean (even that is avoided if you have a spotter).

Depends...like any excersise, it's good to let your muscles feel a heavier weight.

In their defense.
Good Mornings are a relatively dangerous lift if performed incorrectly.
The average person who goes to the gym once a week and does a full body workout just to "stay in shape" has no business doing them.
That said, people who know what they are doing have little to fear.

My favourite is when people use the EZ bar in the squat rack. They grunt and moan, yell and sweat, I'm like "excuse me? Could I use the squat rack?" and they shoot me a wtf look.

Just look at him and say, "I'm putting you in charge of sex and music. That means that if I want your f*cking advice, I'll whistle."
Hope this helps.

I had to wait for a PT last week to get out of my squat rack because he was teaching someone... yep, curls. No wonder people use the rack, if that's what the PT is teaching them.

Like the OP reiterated already, he wasn't cheating to attain a new personal best, but rather, to continue the set. This is a much better use, obviously.
While using a lighter weight would work in this instance too (you'd call it a drop set), the problem with that is that while you set it down and take the plates off to lesson it to something you can use, you lose tension in the muscle and it becomes more aerobic so the fast-twitch fibres are not as recruited by necessity anymore. It also just saves time.
