what are the main differences between being a state police officer and a county/city police officer in America?
we all know the stereotypes, but what are the real pros and cons of each. is 1 job more prestigious? harder to achieve? better pay?
I assume state troopers make a bit more money. Which job would you rather have?

I know a connecticut state trooper who makes 95 grand a year, not including bonuses. Also, every 2 years he gets a new undercover car, which he can do ANYTHING he wants with it. they pay for his gas in that car, and he can use it for personal use as long as the sirens are taken down. He can crash it and they'll just give him a new one...
He also has this crazy army laptop in his car that's indestructable (built to army standards, worth over 10k). It's connected to satelites and he can basically look up anything on it, no matter where he is...
State troopers get good pay with good benefits. Let's not forget, if he ever gets pulled over and he's off duty, he can basically get out of any ticket, no matter how fast he's going...

IN Georgia at least it goes
Georgia State Patrol > County Sheriff Deputies > Local Cops
Pay isn't that great at GSP at first but it tops out higher, they basically work all the car crashes on state roads and such. Georgia Bureau of Investigation does all the serious work though.***Georgia Crew***

He told me he beats the **** out of his car, and does over 140 mph on the highways... "the only way to catch people speeding is to go faster than them so you catch up to them" was what he told me lol...
